Zarina Wahab Shares Insight Into Jiah Khan's Past Struggles and Its Effect on Sooraj Pancholi's Life

Sooraj Pancholi's mother, Zarina Wahab, has opened up about the tragic life of Jiah Khan, revealing that the actress had attempted suicide multiple times before she met her son. Jiah, who passed away on June 3, 2013, was in a relationship with Sooraj at the time. His arrest for abetment to suicide followed her death, which was linked to a six-page note that mentioned their troubled relationship. Zarina now shares that Jiah had faced emotional struggles long before meeting Sooraj. She said, "Naseeb aisi thi ki jab mere bete ka turn aaya toh woh hua" (It was fate that when my son met her, everything happened then).

In a recent interview with Lehren, Zarina spoke about the difficult times the family faced after Jiah's death and Sooraj's arrest. She revealed that Jiah had attempted suicide 4-5 times before her relationship with Sooraj, adding that it was destiny that led to what happened. Zarina’s words shed light on Jiah's personal battles and the emotional turmoil she had been through before her tragic death.

Zarina also shared the severe impact the incident had on Sooraj's career. After being jailed in connection with the case, Sooraj and his family had to endure many hardships. However, Zarina strongly believes in karma and explained, "If you spoil someone’s life with lies, it’s like a loan that will come back with interest." She emphasized that the family patiently waited for the truth to emerge and expressed relief that Sooraj was finally cleared of all charges after 10 years.

Despite everything, Zarina made it clear that she didn’t want to say more about Jiah’s death, as she didn’t wish to lower her own dignity by speaking about it further. She also expressed that Sooraj's career had been deeply affected but was hopeful now that the truth had come to light.

Sooraj Pancholi had been granted bail after spending 22 days in jail. In 2023, the CBI court in Mumbai acquitted him of the charges due to a lack of evidence. Jiah Khan, despite her brief career in Bollywood, left a lasting impression with her performances, particularly in films like Nishabd and Ghajini, before her untimely passing.
