Yash's film 'Toxic promises a unique blend of action & nostalgia; to be set in 50's and 70's era

Kannada superstar Yash is teaming up with Nayanthara for the first time in the highly anticipated film "Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups." The film, which also stars Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, and Shruti Haasan, is being produced on a grand scale as a pan-Indian project. The excitement around the movie has been building steadily, and now, inside details about its setting have been revealed.

A report in Hindustan Times stated, "The film is set between the 1950s and 1970s. An entire world of Toxic has been created—a larger-than-life version of that era, yet very authentic. The set is situated on the outskirts of Bangalore, and the level of detail is something that will blow the audience's mind." This unique setting promises to transport viewers back in time, adding a rich layer to the film's narrative. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, "Toxic" is described as an action-oriented film set against the backdrop of the drug mafia.

Initially, there were reports that actress Kareena Kapoor Khan would make her South Indian film debut in "Toxic," playing Yash's sister. However, due to scheduling conflicts, Kareena had to exit the project. A source close to the production explained, "Kareena Kapoor's dates do not align with the dates of Yash for Toxic. After making efforts to set the calendar right, the makers have amicably parted ways." Nayanthara replaced Kareena in the film.

Additionally, there were rumors that Sai Pallavi would be part of the film, but it was later confirmed that Shruti Haasan would take on the role of Yash's love interest.

With its star-studded cast and intriguing storyline, "Toxic" is poised to be a major hit. Fans are eagerly awaiting more updates as the film's release date approaches. The movie was announced in December 2023 and is aiming for a release date of April 10, 2025.
