#WrapUpMay: There were more of ENTRIES and NEW SHOWS this month

2018 seems to be a year with quick pace. It seems 6 months have passed us by in just a blink. However, unlike the past few months that were really boring but flew by quickly, May saw more of activity in contrast.

Here's all that transpired in May 2018.

Rajeev Khandelwal's mother left for heavenly abode on the 16th of May after a prolonged battle with cancer. Our prayers are with the Khandelwal family. Also, renowned Kannada television host Chandan succumbed to an accident this month.

There were innumerable ENTRIES, all of which were pivotal to the shows and their plots -

Rushil Bangia and Apurva Agnihotri entered Colors' Bepannaah, Nalini Negi and Aparna Dixit entered Porus, Abhaas Mehta entered Tu Sooraj Main Saanjh Piyaji as a cheating doctor, Sangeita Chauhan, Sahil Uppal, Avdeep Sidhu, Sujata Vaishnav and Rakesh Kukreti entered Piyaa Albela, Guddi Maruti, Vishnu Sharma, Rajendra Chawla and Vaishali Nazareth entered Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai, Roma Bali entered Kumkum Bhagya, Gautam Vig and Sapna Thakur entered Ishq Subhan Allah, Ankit Raizada entered Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Ravjeet Singh entered Rishta Likhenge Hum Naya, Usha Rana entered Yeh Hai Mohabbatein as the new Mrs. Bhalla, Sakshi Tanwar has been roped in for a cameo in Krishna Chali London, Akansha Juneja and Karanuday Janjani entered Ishqbaaaz as superstar Abhimanyu, Kushal Punjabi entered Ishq Mein Marjawan as a lawyer who will help Aarohi (Aalisha Panwar), Shardul Pandit entered Siddhivinayak as the new love interest, Sahil Mehta entered Shakti... Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki and lastly, Mrinalini Tyagi entered Kaleerein as Meera and Vivaan's arch enemy on the lookout to kill them.

And there were some unexpected RE-ENTRIES -

Paras Arora and Vandana Singh re-entered Udaan and are reprising their roles of Vivaan and Ragini respectively; Rehaan Roy too re-entered Agnifera as Abhimanyu yet again.

There were some key EXITS as well -

Hema Sood and Somendra Solanki quit Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai on grounds of unprofessional approach and behaviour from the production house, Keith Sequeira's track ended in Udaan, Ishqbaaaz's Nitika Mukherjee took off on her maternity leave from the show, Zindagi Ki Mehek's parallel lead Shiny Dixit quit the show to go looking for better career options, Abhishek Verma's track of Aditya Bhalla came to an end in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein and Sudeep Sahir exited Woh Apna Sa owing to ill health just as the show too was being pulled off air.

On the personal life front, these actors were rumoured to be DATING -

Rumours suggested that actress Donal Bisht is dating her Ek Deewaana Tha director Prateek Shah and that things are pretty serious between them. They, however, denied the news.

Actor Adnan Khan's statement on a talk show was taken out of context and the hunk was linked to his Ishq Subhan Allah co-star Eisha Singh. Adnan however, clarified the rumours and told us exclusively that he and Eisha were just friends.

On the MARRIAGE front -

Love Ne Mila Di Jodi's innocent Avni, actress Perneet Chauhan tied the knot on the 25th of this month with her long time beau businessman Gaurav Gupta and F.I.R. fame Shiv Pandit tied the knot in a hush hush ceremony with long time girlfriend Ameira Punvani.

There was a BREAK UP too in the tinsel town -

Ssharad Malhotra and Pooja Bisht parted ways after being in a relationship for 2 years. While Ssharad stated that his hectic work schedule was to be blamed, Pooja revealed that Ssharad was cheating on her and that he did not have any plans to marry her.

We had quite the lineup of shows that went ON AIR this month -

We have Bitti Business Wali on And TV, the chat show Juzz Baatt on Zee TV, Mariam Khan Reporting Live, Krishna Chali London and Sabse Smart Kaun on Star Plus and Roop Mard Ka Naya Swaroop on Colors.

And a few shows went OFF AIR as well -

Naamkarann on Star Plus, Badho Bahu on And TV, Laado 2 - Veerpur Ki Mardani on Colors and Jai Kanhaiya Lal Ki on Star Bharat.

And the key CONTROVERSIES are -

This is not a controversy per se- but an update regarding a controversial issue. Arch industry folk enemies, producer Vikas Gupta and actor Parth Samthaan buried their hatchet after 3 long years of animosity.

Aisi Deewangi Dekhi Nahi Kahi's legal battle between actors Pranav Mishraa and Jyoti Sharma and producer Aastha Naad and Jatin Sethi escalated with the National Human Rights Commission stepping in.

Bhumika Gurung could not get into her 'pre-wedding' costumes owing to some weight gain and threw her weight around so much that the makers ended up scrapping the sequence altogether.

Filled with the news of new shows and new entries, the month of may was rather easy going in terms of controversies!

Overall, a balanced month for the Telly world!
