#WrapUpMarch: A 'CONTROVERSIAL' month it was; quite Literally!

If we talk about how 'eventful' a particular month turns out to be, March certainly excels in comparison to January and February. This month saw an 'extra' in everything and gave us a series of events quite literally.

Here's a roundup of what transpired this month.

The month began with the saddening news of the demise of writer and columnist Taarak Mehta, whose column 'Duniya Na Oondah Chasmah' inspired SAB TV's sitcom 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.'

Nostalgia and happiness surrounded later as the much loved sitcom Sarabhai V/S Sarabhai's second season finally confirmed a return with a second season as a web series which will hit the web in May.

Who Came:

The grandest entry to occur in the list of entries is that of 'NEW' Tappu in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' as actor Raj Anadkat has stepped into the shoes of Bhavya Gandhi. Apart from this, Saath Nibhana Saathiya fame actress Firoza Khan entered the bi-weekly thriller Koi Laut Ke Aaya Hai, Rehaan Roy entered Thapki... Pyaar Ki, Amrapali Gupta entered Ishqbaaaz as the new antagonist,veteran comedian Raju Shrivastav entered The Kapil Sharma Show and finally, Ssara Khan will soon be seen in Jaana Na Dil Se Door.

Who Left:

The quitting saga began with Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil witnessing multiple exits in the form of Additi Gupta and Laksh Lalwani, where the duo quit the show over the same reason, 'creative dissatisfaction.' As Raj Anadkat entered as the new Tapu, Bhavya Gandhi quit Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah on the grounds of looking forward to greener pastures. Subha Rajput aka Priyanka Oberoi of Ishqbaaaz put down her papers and quit the show also due to creative dissatisfaction. Other exits included Shruti Bapna from Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, Dipika Kakkar and Dheeraj Dhoopar from Sasural Simar Ka, Smita Bansal from Jaana Na Dil Se Door and another case of multiple exits with Aashka Goradia and Kinshuk Mahajan from qNaagin 2. Finally, after a lot of dilly dallying, Sahil Mehta finally quit Suhani Si Ek Ladki.

Who Came Back:

There was this whole fiasco over Ishqbaaaz's Leenesh Mattoo aka Rudra. Leenesh had put in his papers and was serving his notice period, but the makers managed to convince Leenesh and finally he decided to stay on the show. Mahabharat's Draupadi aka Pooja Sharmaa is also set to make a comeback with a show on Colors, while veteran actress, Surekha Sikhri returned to Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani to reprise her role of Badi Rani Maa, but as a ghost. Swaragini fame, Vqrun Kapoor and actress, Sumona Chakravarti will be making a comeback with a hospital drama and a detective drama respectively. Swaragini actor Varun Kapoor too will soon be back with a Colors' drama. Sumona Chakravarti will also be making her comeback with a Colors' thriller. Hasan Zaidi will soon be seen in Sher-E-Punjab: Maharaja Ranjit Singh and actress, Rati Pandey will be making a comeback with Sony TV's 'Porus.' Amidst all this, the biggest comeback news was that of actor Barun Sobti, who will be seen in Four Lions' next.

The Big Leap:

Actor Puru Chibber also bagged a pivotal role in Sanjay Dutt's upcoming 'Bhoomi', while Ridhima Pandit too will be soon making her foray onto the big screen with a Marathi film.

Ouch!

Looks like it has been a month of injuries and precisely, leg injuries. Starting with actor Ssudeep Sahir, who injured his leg due to a microphone being tied rather tightly to his ankle. Though 'Nach Baliye 8' is yet to begin but it saw the first injury in the form of actor Shoaib Ibrahim injuring himself not once but twice which included his thumb and then his leg. Rajshri Rani Pandey tore a ligament as she tripped and Gaurav Khanna injured his fingers while shooting for a fight sequence in 'Chandrakanta.' Beyhadh's Sumit Bharadwaj sustained scratches when he lost control of the bike that he was riding while Karanvir Bohra endured a rel life accident. His car met with a terrible accident near Gujarat when he was travelling with his co-stars for the shoot of his film.

Something's Fishy:

Sudden reports of Beyhadh's Aneri Vajani and Ishqbaaaz and Dil Bole Oberoi's Kunal Kulbhushan Jaisingh dating and planning to tie the knot started doing the rounds, which both Kunal and Aneri trashed. Naamkarann's new lead Aditi Rathore's relationship with fitness model Sreedhan Singh came out in the media too.

Shaadi Mubarak:

Saath Nibhana Saathiya actress Rashmi Singh tied the knot with one of creatives of Star Plus channel, Ajay Shrivastav. Narayani Shastri also tied the knot with her fiancee Steven Graver from Britain and Ishqbaaaz' Navina Bole tied the knot to long time boyfriend, Karan Jeet. Diya Aur Baati Hum's actor Anas Rashid announced his marriage with a girl from his hometown named Heena.

Talaq:

Actress, Veena Malik separated from her husband of 4 years over domestic abuse allegations.

Off Air:

While shows Ek Rishta Saajhedari Ka and Jamai Raja went off air, rumors of Sony TV's flagship show The Kapil Sharma Show being pulled off air, started doing the rounds. With Kapil's unacceptable behaviour towards his team mates gaining center stage,  the show has been scrutiny for a while.

Controversies:

Shilpa Shinde filed charges of sexual harassment her ex show, Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai's producer Benaifer Kohli's husband Sanjay Kohli. However, she also went on to say that she was willing to settle the matter out of court if Benaifer and Sanjay apologised to her. Also, TVF Co-Founder, Arunabh Kumar and actor Parth Samthaan both, were accused of sexual harassment.

The biggest controversy of the month was undoubtedly about funny men, Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover got into a fight on the plane which resulted in Sunil, followed by fellow cast members of The Kapil Sharma Show, Chandan Prabhakar and Ali Asgar also boycotting the show.

Pratyusha Banerjee's close friend Kamya Punjabi and designer Neerusha Nikhat, on the event of Pratyusha's death Anniversary, were all set to release a short film that Pratyusha starred in - Hum Kuch Kah Na Sakey. The short film documented the troubled relationship of Pratyusha with her boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh. But the latter obtained a stay order on the screening of the film, which was to be screened on the 1st of April.
