These are actors who had tasted stardom and success but for some or the other reason chose to stay away from daily soaps in Television. Now back in the limelight they are once again a big hit amongst their fans!

Having tasted success it was only the lure of a good role that got these actors back to the television industry in regular daily soaps. Ready to entertain you again with meaty roles, these are some of our popular TV stars who are back with a bang on Indian television.
Barkha Bisht Sengupta (comeback in Nayi Umr Nayi Chanuati- Parvarrish- Agla Padav on Sony TV) -This young mom has a lovely figure and face. Barkha is married to co-actor from Pyaar Ke Do Naam... Ek Raadha Ek Shyaam, Indraneil Sengupta, and they have a 2 year old daughter she dotes on. Even as she kept on doing bit roles in serials, anchored a season of Comedy Circus and explored Bengali cinema with husband Indraneil, Barkha was sorely missed in a daily soap till she made a comeback in DJ's Creative Unit's Nayi Umr Nayi Chaunati- Parrvarish - Agla Padav. She played the role of a mother to three kids and enjoyed her role as a parent in real life and reel life as well. However, the show had to shut down abruptly and Barkha who has made a mark in films as well is set for her next release - Sanjay Leela Bhansali's RamLeela where she plays bhabhi to Ranveer Singh.
Gaurav Gera (comeback in Mrs. Pammi Pyarelal on Colors) - He was the adorable friend everybody wanted to have in Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi. Playing Nandu who was shown as Mona Singh's friend in the show, Gaurav was a treat to watch. He did couple of shows in between but nothing long running and after staying away from doing a regular role in daily soaps for almost 10 years, he took up Tota Weds Maina on SAB TV. The show didn't have a long run and Gaurav took up the challenge to get into a woman's garb for Mrs. Pammi Pyarelal on Colors. Launched with much fanfare, the Fiction Head Prashant Bhatt had then said that it was a tailor made role for Gaurav and it was always decided that whenever the show would be made it would be Gaurav who would play the title role. While Gaurav did full justice to the character the show failed to make the audience laugh for long. The latest we hear is that from a daily show we will now see Pammi only on weekends.
Gauri Tonk (comeback in Ek Boond Ishq on Life OK) - The tall, leggy beauty took a self-imposed break to give time to her family which included husband, actor Yash Tonk and her daughter Pari. Now that her daughter is 10 years old, Gauri who did couple of episodics and reality shows was ready to venture into serious acting once again. She bagged Ek Boond Ishq, touted as a show with a difference and is being seen playing the role of Nirmala, mother to grown up kids. However she is a saas with a difference - seen in a glam avatar, the already slim Gauri has toned her body so that she fits into the sleek costumes.
Gautami Gadgil (comeback in Khelti Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi on Zee TV) - She started modelling at the age of 16, however coming from an academically inclined family she also completed her studies alongside till she got into television. Gautami was noticed for her sensitive portrayal in Ghar ek Mandir on Sony TV which was followed by other shows one of which was with Ram Kapoor and the couple got married soon after meeting. Now a mother of two kids, Gautami was seen doing bit roles in films and TV, however the much awaited good role was evading her till she heard the script for Khelti Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi for Zee TV. Playing a widow and mother to two young daughters, Gautami's comeback was much awaited by her fans.
The beautiful actress, Kanchi Kaul got married to co-actor Shabbir Ahluwalia was out of frame for almost six years after gaining immense popularity in Ek Ladki Anjaani Si... She also played the main role of Bhabhi in a serial of the same name. Busy with her married life and also with her husband's production house Kanchi was back with Ek Nanad ki Chhabi - Meri Bhabhi. Playing the role of the Shraddha who comes back to her father's home after an unsuccessful marriage, Kanchi as the Nanad in this show, puts in an effortless performance and looks as pretty as ever!
Kavita Kaushik (comeback in F.I.R. on SAB TV) - She was the fire in F.I.R., however she got burnt out after seven years of doing the show and called it quits when the show took a 20 year leap. After a much needed and self-imposed break, Kavita was back on TV with another show on the same channel - Tota weds Maina. However, bad timings and low ratings meant that the show wrapped up in couple of months and she was back in F.I.R. manning the chowki as Inspector Chandramukhi Chautala yet again.
He started his career when he was 15 and when he was just 17 years old he was a hit in Dharti ka Veer Yodha Prithviraj Chauhan. Initially he was slated to do only few episodes but then the popularity of the character made the makers to increase his role and he went on to do a long inning. This role also got him many awards and then for almost five years he tried to get into films while at the same time did one episode cameos in TV too. However his next big ticket was his comeback as Akbar in Zee TV's magnum opus Jodha Akbar produced by Ekta Kapoor. Looking handsome and dashing, this young actor has quite a fan following.
Sangeeta Ghosh (comeback in Kehta Hai Dil...Jee Le Zara on Sony TV) - She has been acting since the age of 10 years as a child artiste. She scorched the TV screens in daily soaps like Mehendi Tere Naam Ki, Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand and Rabba Ishq Na Hove from 2002 to 2006. She shifted her focus to films but unfortunately her debut film Bhanvara produced and directed by Dharmesh Darshan in 2008 was never released. After a hush-hush wedding to a polo player based in Rajasthan, she completely given up her career till acting beckoned and she was back to the grease paint with a show which needed a mature actress in the lead role. Jee Le Zara on Sony TV is Sangeeta's comeback show and the actress who was once a sultry star is back in a no nonsense simple looking role which suits her current age too.
Ulka Gupta (comeback in Khelti Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi on Zee TV) - After making quite an impact as the young Ek Veer Stree Ki Kahaani Jhansi Ki Rani on Zee TV she returned to the same show as Kaali, a tribal woman. She gathered many awards and critical acclaim for her debut show and after which she decided to concentrate on her studies. Now she is back playing a role that fits her age (she is just 16 at present) in Khelti Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi. This bundle of talent plays the daughter to Gautami Gadgil and has to portray variety of emotions in the show for which she is already getting appreciation.
Vipul Gupta (comeback in Ek Nanad ki Khushiyon ki Chhabi - Meri Bhabhi on Star Plus) - Model turned actor Vipul Gupta was quite a hit with his shows K Street Pali Hill and India Calling. Taking a break to try his luck in films however, was a setback to his Television career. While he continued to do modelling and episodics, Vipul is now back with a substantial role as Kanchi Kaul's brother in Ek Nanad ki Khushiyon ki Chhabi - Meri Bhabhi.
