Television's scenario keeps changing with every passing day and the audience keeps adapting themselves to it. While several shows arrive and depart sooner than anticipated, very few shows manage to create a substantial impact.

When it comes to this year, we witnessed several fresh pairings in the form of Vivian Dsena-Rubina Dilaik and Ssharad Malhotra-Kratika Sengar among others. However, it is the debutants or newbies who entered the TV scene and took it by storm. These on-screen couples came on the tube and conquered it with absolute conviction.

Here we list down those on-screen TV couples which became a sensation and what made it possible.

Disclaimer- One of the duo in the couple makes their debut, where not necessarily they are doing their first show, but making their full-fledged debuts with the respective shows.

Paras Arora and Meera Deosthale as Vivaan and Chakor in 'Udaan'

Debutant Meera Deosthale took over the mantle from the fantastic Spandan Chaturvedi as Chakor in the show, 'Udaan' earlier this year. It may be debatable how the show lost its crux post leap, but one thing that became a rage was the on-screen chemistry of Meera aka Chakoor and actor, Paras Arora aka Vivaan. It was the freshness that Meera brought to the screen with Paras' experience as an actor which made the pair an instant hit. Adding to the same, the rumours of the duo dating off-screen just made it bigger.

Karan V Grover and Ridhima Pandit as Shaan-Rajni in 'Bahu Hamari Rajni_Kant'

I mean, where else would you see a human being paired with a robot? It totally happens on Indian television and this was one of the best things about 'Bahu Hamari Rajni_Kant'. The experienced and brilliant Karan V Grover made his comeback to television with the show as a mastermind scientist Shaan and was paired against debutant Ridhima Pandit. However, it was a pleasant surprise watching Ridhima's verstality as an actor and her camaraderie with Karan aka Shaan that made them a household name.

Ashish Sharma and Madirakshi Mundle as Ram and Sita in 'Siya Ke Ram'

Technically Ram (Ashish) and Sita (Madirakshi Mundle) were introduced in the show in December 2015, however, the true chemistry and story of Ram and Sita began earlier this year. We know about Ashish being a tremendous actor already, but it was Madirakshi's portrayal of Sita which was fantastic. To do something which is done time and again and still make an impact is difficult an the innocence and pure on-screen chemistry of Ashish and Madirakshi made them an absolute treat.

Nakuul Mehta and Surbhi Chandna as Shivaay and Anika in 'Ishqbaaaz'

After becoming a hit in 'Pyaar Ka Dard Hai...Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara...', Nakuul retuned with 'Ishqbaaaz' this year. And there was pressure; but it was totally forgotten when Surbhi Chandna aka Anika was paired opposite Nakuul aka Shivvay. Surbhi, though not making her debut, this was her first full-fledged lead role. One of the prime reasons for this Jodi being a hit is the fact that three months into the show, the couple hasn't actually confessed their love to each other. Still the amazing nok-jhok and occasional romance is an absolute treat.

Vikram Singh Chauhan and Shivani Surve as Atharv and Vividha in 'Jaana Na Dil Se Door'

One of those underdog on-screen jodis which had a lot of odds against them. Not amongst the 'popular' faces, the show was on-air at an unconventional 5:30 pm slot. However, what worked in the favour of Vikram and Shivani was the sizzling on-screen chemistry the duo portrayed. A bit of raw romance with the innocence of supporting families turned out to be a winner.

Namik Paul and Nikita Dutta as Shravan and Suman in 'Ek Duje Ke Vaaste'

The fans are still heartbroken about the fact that the show is going off-air next week. The sheer fact that the fans revolted against this decision is enough to understand how iconic this on-screen couple became. What worked most for the on-screen duo was that they weren't the quintessential in-love couple and in fact depicted the problems two people would go through, if they are childhood friends and love each other immensely. Surely to be said, Shravan and Suman, you will be missed.

Shaheer Sheikh and Erica Fernandes as Dev and Sonakshi in 'Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi'

They are taking the fans by storm by every passing day. Shaheer and Erica as Dev and Sonakshi have already become one of television's most loved and most adored on-screen couples. Shaheer's impeccable acting prowess and Erica's pure honesty makes them an enviable combination. From falling in love to breaking up to patching up, the different shades of love were aptly portrayed by the duo. And now that Dev and Sonakshi are finally married, we are in for some major drama ahead too.

These rare combos of experienced-actors-meeting-fresh-faces became a trend this year and it just keeps getting better and better. This was our list of talents, do you agree with it? Have better suggestions? Leave in your comments below.
