Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri's , ‘The Kashmir Files’ emerged as one of the highest earning films of 2022, having earned Rs 246 crore nett. Since its release till date the film has been the topic of a lot of debates and discussions. For the unversed, the film narrated the story of Kashmiri Hindus' exodus from Kashmir in the 1990s and featured Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi and Darshan Kumar among others.

Talking of the same now Prakash Raj has ignited the war of words as he called the film 'nonsense'

Slamming the film, Prakash Raj had said, "The Kashmir Files is one of the nonsense films, but we know who produced it. Shameless. International jury spit on them. They are still shameless. The other fellow, the director is still telling, ‘Why I am not getting Oscar?’ He will not even get a Bhaskar."

Prakash was one of the speakers at the Mathrubhumi International Festival of Letters in Kerala last weekend. He continued saying, "I tell you because there is a sensitive media out there. Here you can do a propaganda film. I know, according to my sources, they have invested around ₹2000 crore only to make films like this. But you can’t fool people all the time.”

Reacting to the same, ‘The Kashmir Files’ director, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri tweeted, “A small, people’s film #TheKashmirFiles has given sleepless nights to #UrbanNaxals so much that one of their Pidi is troubled even after one year, calling its viewer’s barking dogs. And Mr. Andhkaar Raj, how can I get Bhaskar, she/he is all yours. Forever.”

Looks like the actors comment haven't gone well with the director.

Talking on the workfront Vivek has, The Delhi Files, which will be the last in the Files trilogy, which is "evidently about the 1984 anti-Sikh riots." In November 2022, he announced another upcoming film The Vaccine War to be released on 15 August 2023, on the Indian independence day. The film supposedly portrays the development of a domestic vaccine for COVID-19 pandemic in India.
