If you’ve been patiently waiting for Too Much with Kajol & Twinkle to find its groove, episode three finally delivers. After a lukewarm start with Salman and Aamir, and a decent follow-up featuring Alia and Varun, the show hits its peak with Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, the OG duo of the ’90s who can charm, tease, and banter their way through anything.
From the very first frame, the energy is infectious. The chemistry between all four Kajol, Twinkle, Akshay, and Saif feels effortless. There’s no over-rehearsed laughter, no fake flattery. It’s just four people who’ve known each other forever, catching up like old friends, letting stories tumble out with comfort and mischief.
And thank the entertainment gods, no unnecessary food-tasting segment this time. Just pure conversation, spiced with nostalgia, mischief, and heart.
Of Haiwans, Blind Men, and Bathroom Blunders

The episode begins on a breezy note with Akshay and Saif casually revealing that they’re working together again in Haiwan, Priyadarshan’s next film. Saif plays a blind man, and Akshay can’t help but praise his co-star only to immediately ruin the moment with a hilarious impression of Priyadarshan telling Saif, “Open your eyes and act like you can’t see.”
That sets the tone, quick-witted, slightly chaotic, and completely unfiltered. Soon, the conversation drifts into a wild set of confessions. Twinkle shares how Saif once bathed in Kajol’s bathroom (yes, really), which started off sounding scandalous before being clarified as an innocent case of a Malabar Hill water shortage. The laughter doesn’t stop there, Akshay adds his own twist, joking that Saif once shared a bathtub with another actor, turning the tale into a full-blown Housefull setup.
Of Tattoos, Love Stories, and Twinkle’s Unapologetic Sass

Once the laughter subsides, the show takes a surprisingly sweet detour. Saif talks about his famous Kareena tattoo, how he impulsively got her name inked one day, full of love and zero planning. Akshay admits he, too, carries Twinkle’s name (and that of their kids) on his skin.
But it’s Twinkle’s reply that steals the moment. When Kajol asks why she hasn’t done the same, Twinkle deadpans, “Tattoos are permanent, marriages are not.” The room bursts into laughter, and that right there is Twinkle in a nutshell, brutally honest, self-aware, and effortlessly funny.
From there, the conversation glides into memories of how Akshay and Twinkle met. Akshay reveals how Twinkle didn’t want to work with him because he was delivering flops at the time, only to eventually fall in love. He also shares the now-viral tidbit that Twinkle once got their genetic tests done to ensure a clean family tree before marriage. Who needs matching kundalis when you can have matching DNA reports, right?
Saif Ali Khan: The Real MVP (and the Mood of the Episode)

If Akshay brings the punchlines, Saif brings the charm, that rare, unpredictable mix of royal cool and mischief. He’s witty, self-deprecating, and refreshingly candid. Whether he’s recounting his early acting struggles (“I lived in unpainted palaces, that was my struggle”) or speaking sincerely about his first wife, Amrita Singh’s role in shaping his life, Saif balances humour with honesty beautifully.
One of the most striking moments comes when he opens up about the infamous stabbing incident, narrating it calmly, with a hero’s composure and a touch of humility. He explains how he deliberately walked out on his own two feet to assure everyone he was fine, even when he wasn’t. And then, within seconds, he’s back to cracking jokes about potty humor and marital misunderstandings.
The Games That Actually Worked

Unlike earlier episodes where the games felt like fillers, this time, they hit the mark. The “When your wife says…” segment is easily one of the funniest moments of the show. Akshay and Saif decode lines like “Do whatever you want” and “We need to talk” with the kind of marital experience that only seasoned husbands can provide.
When “Do I look fat in this?” pops up, Twinkle jokes that it’s probably Saif, not Kareena, who asks that question. The second game, 'this side that side', about lifestyle preferences like being night owls or day people, is husbands' high maintenance, or remixes better, is equally fun. Saif, with his perfect poker face, turns it into a pun-filled ride about “producing” at night and “reproducing” by day. Even Kajol can’t hold her laughter.
Conversations, Not Interviews and That’s the Magic

The best thing about this episode is how un-show-like it feels. There’s structure, sure, but not stiffness. The conversations flow from relationships and parenting to aging and the chaos of the ’90s film sets.
When they reminisce about working back in the day, both Akshay and Saif recall the madness of old-school shoots, with no vanity vans, no social media, just raw energy and screaming directors. Saif jokes about how back then, silence on set was maintained by directors yelling colourful expletives, not polite “silence, please.” The nostalgia hits home.
There’s also a surprisingly meaningful exchange about how women navigate ageing differently from men, with both Saif and Kajol contributing grounded, real takes.
Verdict: Too Much Fun, Just Enough Heart

Episode three of Too Much with Kajol & Twinkle finally lives up to its name, it’s too much in the best possible way. A perfect blend of warmth, wit, and nostalgia, carried effortlessly by two legends who clearly couldn’t care less about playing it safe.
The comfort between the four guests makes the episode feel like an evening spent eavesdropping on your funniest relatives. Too Much with Kajol & Twinkle just found its stride, and it did it with a Khiladi, a Nawab, and a whole lot of laughter.
