Makers trying to mislead the audience

Television show creators have been toying with the emotions, teasing the audience with promos that promise exciting scenes only to leave them hanging. In the past, promos would ignite curiosity, revealing the entire story the next day. However, a shift occurred when scenes from the promo could pop up at any point during the week. Nowadays, it seems like a new trend has emerged – promos showcase scenes that never materialize in the actual show, leaving viewers disheartened by this deceptive pattern.

The audience eagerly anticipates the scenes teased in the promos, hoping for thrilling developments or answers to burning questions, only to find these moments missing from the episodes. This practice of showcasing scenes in promos that never grace the screen has become a source of frustration and disappointment for viewers. The excitement built up by these glimpses of what's to come is left unresolved, creating a sense of unfulfilled anticipation.

Viewers invest their time and emotions in following these shows, expecting the promised content from the promos to be delivered in the episodes. When these expectations are not met, it can lead to a sense of betrayal and dissatisfaction among the audience. The disconnect between the teasers and the actual content of the show can erode viewers' trust and engagement, impacting the overall viewing experience.

Television show creators should consider the impact of misleading promos on audience satisfaction and loyalty. Maintaining transparency and delivering on the promises made in promotional material can enhance viewer trust and enjoyment of the show. By aligning promotional content with the actual storyline, showmakers can ensure a more fulfilling and rewarding viewing experience for their audience, fostering a stronger connection between viewers and the shows they love.

Good article. I remember I started watching Dharam Patni because of its promos..which were never shown in the actual show. And lead pair didn't hit and miss in the same way it was shown in promos. I want to add that sometimes they use dream sequences in promos, so even though they are shown in dramas..they turn out to be dreams , this happened in Parineeti for weeks before Neeti discovered the truth about Pari and Sanju's marriage
