Gudi Padwa, a Mahrashtrian festival which marks the beginning of the New Year will be celebrated all over the city joyfully. Our TV industry has many Maharashtrian actors who are also in a mood of celebrating this festival cheerfully and would love to gorge on delicious sweets but they can't because of their daily shoot schedules.
Here are these actors telling us about Gudi Padwa celebrations...
Tejaswi Prakash Wayangankar, currently seen as Dhara in Colors' Sanskaar - Dharohar Apno Ki: "I am not sure if I would be getting time to celebrate the festival or not because we are shooting continuously. We wake up early in the morning for Puja. We put Gudi outside our house which is a sign of always rising. We prepare Til Gud, Puran Poli and other sweets for which I am quite excited about. I will get some Til Gud for everybody on the sets. I will be wearing a traditional dress. If I would be at home and get some time then I would also wear a Nathni. We have been called for shooting on all the festivals so I don't think that I would be getting an off that day."Yashashri Masurkar, currently seen as Sumitra in Zee TV's Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se: "I will be shooting that day. I will be having Shreekhand and sweets because Shubhangiji is also a Maharashtrian. We will get sweets for everyone and have lunch together. There won't be any point of dressing up for few hours as we have to come to our shoots then put on our costumes for shooting. I will definitely prepare a Gudi and put it outside my house. I have no plans for preparing sweets. My Mom will be making the sweets and I will be eating those sweets (laughs)."
Mrunal Thakur, soon to be seen as Bulbul in Zee TV's Kumkum Bhagya: It's a new year for Maharashtrians and I would like to wish all my fans a very Happy Gudi Padwa. Eat lots of Puran Poli that day. If possible then I will be treating my co-stars on the sets. Gudi Padwa is a festival which should be celebrated with your family and my family is not here so there won't be any point of me taking an early day off that day. We will be celebrating it on the set because we have lots of Maharashtrians here. Recently, I have also done a small Gudi Padwa event for my upcoming Marathi movie. I'll be making Kheer that day which is easier to make than Puran Poli. I have some of my family friends in Mumbai so I would be going to celebrate this festival with them. I will be wearing a Paithani saree with Gajra and Nathni that day. I wish my family was here."
Usha Nadkarni, currently seen as Savita Deshmukh in Zee TV's Pavitra Rishta: We don't put Gudi. We make Toran and Rangoli outside our house. We do Puja and we make sweets like Puran Poli, Basundhi and Shreekhand."
TellyBuzz wishes all of you a very Happy Gudi Padwa and a prosperous year ahead!
