Here are actors speaking about the same -
Sanjeeda Shaikh who is loved as Durga in Star Plus popular show Ek Haisna Thi says - I took an off from work as I don't like to work on any festivals and I am
looking forward to gorge on some delicacies like biryani and mutton. I love Mutton that we
get to eat on Bakri Eid.
I have been celebrating Bakri Eid since my childhood. I wake up in the morning and offer Namaz which is very important during the festival and I look forward to spend good time with my family and make most of it.
Sana Amin Sheikh who is loved as Laajo in Life OK's Gusthak Dil says - Bakri Eid is meant for sacrificing goat and as per the ritual one part is given to the poor, second one is for the family who performs Qurbaani and the last one is for relatives and friends. Except this we just enjoy the festival with delicious food like Mutton Biryani and even Sheer Khurma though it is meant to be cooked on Ramzan Eid but I have it on Bakri Eid as well. So it is quite a positive festival where we get to meet and greet friends, relatives and spend a day with them.
Rukhsar Rehman who is seen in Zee TV show Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya says - Bakri Eid is celebrated because Prophet was asked to sacrifice his son for Allah Tala which was to test him but he actually decided to sacrifice his son's life with sword however, a goat was slaughtered which came in between and since then it has become a custom to sacrifice a goat on this day.
We do Qurbaani, I personally don't like to perform it as once I saw it happening after which I almost
decided to become a vegetarian. Men from all houses do such kurbaani of Goat
and then they take a bath after coming home, then all goodies are made
especially sweets and then we go to our relatives place.
The boys offer special prayers in the morning. If we are lucky then we also get many Eidis on this day. My father in law every year gives me an Eidi. So it is a festival for you to be good with each other, eating good food also feeling divine because of the special prayers that are done in the morning. Lastly we are not allowed to keep mutton at home but as we do kurbaani we just taste it and rest of it distribute amongst others sometimes we even share mutton in the orphanage.
Ayub Khan seen in Star Plus Ek Hasina Thi says - During Bakri Eid, we offer Namaz in the morning then we go out meet friends and relatives also there are people
coming at home so it is a festival that is celebrated with happiness. In this
busy schedule we get a day off so I rest the whole day but as
I said it is a festival of happiness so I celebrate it to the fullest and it is
a great day for me."
Shagufta Ali loved as Chaiji in Star Plus' popular show Veera says - I will be going to my uncle and nani's place. We don't do much on this festival as we just go and gorge on the delicious mutton that is cooked. We have only two days in the entire year to celebrate so both the festivals are very special and we celebrate it with utmost happiness.
We wish Eid Mubarak to all the readers!
