There was a time when TV actors found it hard to establish a foothold among the stars of Bollywood, but the tide has turned and the likes of Prachi Desai and Sushant Singh Rajput have blazed a trail in filmdom.
Here's looking at actors who have lately made the crossover without tripping over their ambitions.
Sushant Singh Rajput: He was a household name on television with his lover boy's act in in "Pavitra Rishta", in which he formed a long-term rishta, pavitra one hopes, with his co-star Ankita Lokhande. Sushant got a dream break on the large-screen in Abhishek Kapoor's "Kai Po Che!".He has a strong follow-up with Yash Raj Film's "Shuddh Desi Romance", being directed by Maneesh Sharma. But he must guard against excessive hype and publicity.
Vidya Balan: So far the only television female actor to crossover into celluloid superstardom, Vidya started her career as the mousy sibling in Asok Saraf and Priya Tendulkar's wacked-out family on "Hum Paanch". She makes the right bold career choices.
Though the film tanked, Preity has super confidence in Rhehaan. She has offered him another production. His earlier films "Woh Tera Naam Ttha" and "Kajrare" were disasters and so is "Ishkq In Paris".
Pulkit Samrat: Shot to fame as Lakshya Virani in the long-running soap 'Kyunki...Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi". He is backed by the biggest Bollywood names from Farhan Akhtar to Salman Khan, but he made a disastrous movie debut in "Bittoo Boss". Pulkit gets a new lease of screen life in "Fukrey".

Surprising article as they did not even mention actors like SRK who is the biggest superstar in the country ,also started his debut on tv for e.g Fauji . If we look in the past ,we also have actors like Irrfan Khan who has established himself as one of the most versatile and powerful actor, Gracy Singh ,R.Madhavan ,Ram Kapoor, Ronit Roy,Yami Gautam,Rajeev Khandelwal amongst the others. I think the person whom I consider relevant is only Vidya Balan. But wishing Sushant Singh Rajput ,Ayushmann Khuranna ,Prachi Desai all the very best..looking forward to see you all in the next project.

What an awfully written article! Don't know/care whether those actors will make it to BW or not, but pretty sure this writer won't make it far in journalism. "His earlier films 'Woh Tera Naam Ttha' and 'Kajrare' were disasters and so is 'Ishkq In Paris.'" Really? That is how you talk of people whose status on having eaten a banana or not decides your pay?

Quite surprising article as it doesn't mention actors like Rajeev khandelwal, SRK, if we go little back even Irfaan Khan, R. Madhavan... they also started from TV... why they have been missing in the list... No personal offences but I personally feel its too early to rate Sushant, Ayushman, Pulkit as a successful transitions as they are yet to make a mark...its just a beginning for them ... they have a long way ahead Among the list only Vidya Balan seems to be relevant. All the best to the actors who move over to Films...as its much easier for them, as cinema welcomes them more warmly & openly than earlier.
