Tusharr Khanna: I am glad I took the decision to come back to TV and do Naagin 6

Tusharr Khanna made his way to Naagin 6 alongside Tejasswi Prakash, and well, it is safe to say that the actor has received quite a positive response from the viewers so far. India Forums got talking to him about the response and how does he feel about being a part of such a franchise, what prompted him to make this decision while he was away from TV, and more. 

How has the reaction to your role been so far?

It has been overwhelming. I have been working since 7 years but this is the first time I have been getting such a crazy response. I am just grateful and happy. My entry shot went viral, and fans are literally going crazy. I am just happy.

You say this is the kind of recognition that has never come your way. What would you have to say about the journey that's lead everything up until here and has this been the kind of work you were waiting for?

I entered the industry when I was 20, I was very young and I did not know much about life. I knew acting because I have been theatre all my life, so acting was always there, but I needed to know a lot about life, how to be professional. You have to go through certain things sometimes to learn a lot of things, and I learned those things in these 7 years. When you are away from family, you learn so much, you meet a lot of people, you mature with time. So now is the time I think where I have changed as a person also, doing things differently and making decisions differently. After doing some TV shows, I was like I wanted to do films, because that was my dream but it wasn't getting through. I wasn't doing a lot in these 2-3 years because big projects were promised to me and nothing happened. But then, I was like rather than waiting for something to happen, I should do something, be visible, work in a bigger and popular show, so that people know me and I am visible and I think that is paying off.

How was it like on the sets for you and shooting with the team?

It is very good, they are very supportive. I wasn't sure in the beginning because you don't know how people will react. They are very nice and friendly, and everyone is welcoming. I am having a great time shooting, the director is really amazing and Ekta ma'am is also liking my work. There's a lot coming up with my character ahead.

While Naagin is an absolute franchise, it also falls into the supernatural thriller category, and there's always something people have to say about it. Were there any apprehensions on your end?

Not at all. I think the audience is growing and there are different kind of audiences. If there is TV and films on one hand, then there is OTT too, and every medium has its set audience and they give equal amount of love. To be very honest, I feel people in India are not as aware of OTT and films need them to go to the theatres but this reaches them and it is the most massiest and the most popular platform at this time in India. I am glad that I took the decision to come back to TV and do a show like Naagin 6. I don't what will happen ahead, but I am getting a lot of love and support from the audiences and I hope it carries forward as well.
