Popularly known as Dimpy from Star Plus' show Anupamaa, Nishi Saxena has to be one of the most talked about characters in the show. As much as the actress has been on the receiving end of hate owing to the current drama of the show, Nishi, in an exclusive conversation with us, commented on how people react when they meet her in real life. The actress also looked back on her journey in the show and revealed whether or not she had any apprehensions about playing a grey character.

How do you look back at your journey in Anupamaa?

It has been eight months since I entered the show, and each day feels like the first day because we get to do something new every day. Nothing is repetitive. Dimpy was a positive character initially; she was a rape victim, and then suddenly, she changed into this character. I have been enjoying this transition, and this journey has been fun. I hope everything stays like this.

Anupamaa is not just a show but an emotion for the country right now; in this case, did you have any apprehensions about playing a negative character in the show? Did you fear trolls?

Not at all. There was a time when Pakhi's character in the show was negative, and people used to hate her. I remember how she would receive hate messages and would be trolled, but I knew for a fact that one day or the other, this would happen to me, too. But I never had any double thoughts because I knew a character would not be positive throughout their journey in the show. In real life, people change too. So, how will a character not go through changes?

Have you been trolled for your stint in the show? Especially during the ongoing slap drama?

Yes, I have been trolled a lot. Especially on the day the 'Slap Drama' episode aired. People were very happy that finally Dimpy was slapped. So yes, I was trolled a lot. But I do not care about the trolling because I know that if people do not like me today, they will like me someday or the other if the character turns positive.

Who do you share a good bond with offscreen?

I think I share a great bond with Ashlesha Sawant. I share a good bond with Sagar, too, and he is a very good friend. Offscreen, whenever we meet for a party or get together, we enjoy each other's company. I share a good bond with everyone, but if you ask me who I share the best bond with, I will take Ashlesha and Sagar's names.

What is that one thing people tell you when they meet you outside the sets of the show?

Mostly, whenever people meet me, when I am shopping or when I go out, they come up to me and tell me, ''Tum real life mein toh kitni sweet ho.'' This is the one comment I get to hear quite often. Even when people come on the sets of our show, they say, ''Tum real life mein toh kitni pyaari ho.''

In the current track of the show, Dimpy has been asked to live separately in the same house since she wanted the house to be partitioned.
