#TripleTalaq: Television industry REACTS to Supreme Court's decision!
Here's what your favourite celebs are saying about the move!

Today, our country woke up to the news of the Supreme Court abolishing the Muslim practice of 'Triple Talaq', a cultural practice which has long been associated with the Islamic laws that are subject to misinterpretation. India has only now begun to comprehend the evils of something that leaves women with little or no rights. We have quite a few socially aware TV celebs who are reacting to 'triple talaq' being made unconstitutional!
I feel it's a great move and one that was much needed! Marriage is an institution which requires a lot of effort and divorce cannot and should not be as convenient as just saying a word. Also, what made it all the more unfair was that it was one-sided and so a man could just divorce a woman at a whim. I am glad that the Supreme Court has taken such a decision and I hope that it brings about a positive change by giving equality to both genders and also make decisions like divorce better thought out.
I rejoice for women of the community. They have finally got an equal right in the marriage which constitutes of two people but owing to Triple Talaq, it always remained a one-sided affair. Women had to constantly remain in fear that they have to behave in accordance with their husband and in-laws, or else they'd be subjected to those three terrorizing words. A new era for these women has started from here on. I applaud those who stood for their rights and salute the law makers for liberating them.
I think it was high time that the Indian Constitution declared the law as many were going as far as using WhatsApp to inform their wives of their divorce. It had come to a meaningless standstill for women after that.
I applaud the Supreme Court for this move! Just the way marriage isn't about a few words, a divorce should also not be. Marriage is about two people coming together and just by saying a few words, the men had an upper hand and would decide the verdict of a marriage. Now the verdict lies in the hands of both partners! Kudos to the Indian Supreme Court for this move!
Triple Talaq is in Islam and cannot be amended. But the issue is not the law instead how it has been practised. A lot of cases have come out where the way has been practised is entirely wrong. No one, according to any Islamic law, is allowed to give talaq just in one go just by saying talaq thrice. According to the Islamic law, there is a proper procedure that is to be followed no matter what and it's a procedure of 6-9 months where you make the couple meet and sit and get them to rethink about the decision too. Once you are through with that span of time and if both the individuals are still standing their grounds to get separated, a talaq is viable. Until the end of this entire process, there's an option for the respective husband and wife to withdraw the entire process and come back as a couple as well. Rather than creating a frenzy or making a hue and cry for Islamic laws or condemning them, the Government needs to educate and help the ignorant to provide more awareness towards the right practice of talaq in exactly the same manner that the Government is spreading awareness about dowry practices in our country.
It's a very apt decision taken by the court. Both men and women deserve equal rights, be it any religion. So I am glad that women of Muslim religion also have equal rights now. The pain a woman goes through during the separation with her husband cannot be minimised but atleast this might give sometime to her to recover or rethink about life because triple talak was like an instant noodle, just say it and get over with the relationship.
I think it's smart and a perfect verdict for now. It's just very appalling how my community lacks educated and sensible leadership. I know the apprehensions about a lot of elder Muslims that I have spoken with, they would claim that once anyone else who starts meddling with Muslims personal law board or Muslim laws it would be wind fall. I don't know how far these are true but I think anything unfair, anything pertaining to gender inequality should be abolished. Why should there be even a second thought about? For anyone having second thoughts, I would ask them to imagine something same happening to their sister or any other family person. While I sit here and complain about lack of educated leadership in India in my community, I am hardly doing anything about it so I don't think I have a right to complain but I guess eventually we have to come together and set some wrongs to right.

The most sensible reply was sehban azim's ... Respect for him

The most sensible reply was by shehban azim. Being a muslim he understands what talaq is and how it is given. it's high time people from other religions in india are educated about how talaq is given according to islamic law. No man can give talaq by saying it thrice that too in one go. The other celebs I know you all on't know much about triple talaq and how it's made so I won't comment on what was said by all of them.

I believe Sehban Azim gave the most sensible reply here. I also read into this triple talaq (from the correct sources not just Mr.Google!) and have realized that people have twisted it to suit their nasty intentions. Because apparently, even islamically a couple CAN NOT get divorced by just saying "talaq" thrice. Or other similarly ridiculous means like through whatsapp or the lot. Really appreciate him in using his voice to let people know about it. The other actors of course also had well meaning replies but they are clearly unaware of the truth (of course they are not to blame cause I think a lot of them are non-muslims) as are a lot of other people. That said, I hope the indian government comes up with a solution where the women do not get abused by just being saying "Talaq" three times or at least lessen it because it isn't really banned like the comment below states?

1. Government did NOT ban triple talaq. SC did. To state facts SC didn't ban triple talaq completely but gave a 'stay' on TT for a period of 6 months. meanwhile Government can bring in law to make the ban permanent. so till the government brings in such law.. onus of the ban lies with SC. 2. 5 Muslim women who fought this case against TT... the women who got divorced through post card, phone call and frivolously and not only got no maintenance but even their children were taken away from them. and got no help from religious leaders they approached. 3. It is not government's or constitution's duty (or business) to educate people about their religious and personal laws. It is the duty of religious leaders, leaders, educated masses to do so. So here we are doing exactly the same thing we are accusing the celebrities of. I am not commenting against any faith or religion.. just stating facts. :)

Islamic laws are practical and much more open minded than British based Constitution of India . Divorce itself is the progressive thing and much much more practical than 7 janmo Ka Bandhan! Bjp is just doing their Muslim hatred politics and I being an Indian Muslim is ashamed that such communal govt is running our country . Shame on us

Azim is so right. Very well explained. Love Divyanka Tripathi voicing what's right.

Thank you Sehban Azim for attempting to explain what Triple Talaq really is...these celebs are simply tweeting and expressing happiness without even knowing what Triple Talaq law really is...There is nothing wrong in Triple Talaq but the way it is practiced these days is totally wrong. Why not educate yourselves and then comment...and who says a woman cant get divorce from her husband? That is why the Khula law was made in Islam. I, myself, took Khula from my husband...or ex actually. If followed and studied properly, Islam is one religion which has made divorce easy and had given equal rights to women. Our government has to be one of the most stupidest ones I have ever seen...they talk about women rights, women this and woman that, then why not protect your country's women first? Instead of banning laws which need not to be banned in the first place, why not make laws about rapes and such more harsh so that the crime in your country lessens? Oh wait I forgot! They do have laws for those...dont wear jeans, dont eat noodles,etc...right , right If the Government is so concerned about Muslim women rights(hah right! what a farce), then why not educate them on what Triple Talaq really is... This is nothing but communalism at its peak.

Only SensiblE Comment here Was Of Sehban's.. I being a Muslim Lady Knows Triple Talaq Is The Best way To Get Divorcee.. Every Educated Muslim Lady Know what Triple Talaq is And How It Is Best way to Get Talaq.. And 'IF' Govt. Never Banned Triple Talaq . SC Just Banned What Sehban Said.. Saying Talaq, Talaq, Talaq at A Time .. Hell Govt. Need to Educated Women about Their Islamic Right. Islam Gives More Rights to Women but Hardly they are Aware of It..

The way Sehban explained it is the way to go! I guess besides him no one really knew what they were talking about. Thank you Sehban for your explaination!!!

Sehban's explanation is how it needs to be done. You can't possibly change the word of god. If you're a practicing muslim you'll understand. If you're not your opinion only matters to the muslim men who made it possible for the supreme court to change the law.
