To mark its fifteenth anniversary here, Toonz Animation, will make five short animation films on the stories written by the winners of "Kahani Masters".

Toonz, which opened the Technopark campus in 1999 here, is partnering with Disney India for the short films.

"Kahani Masters" received 14,000 entries from across the country and the five children - Suhani Shrikhande from Nagpur (10 years), Animesh Nigham from Bhopal (7 years), Atri Garg from New Delhi (11 years), Mayul Verma from Agra (11 years), and Aryan Sharma from New Delhi (9 years) - were selected among them.

Prosenjit Ganguly, known as a finest storyteller in the animation industry, is mentoring them. They children will attend a workshop and they will design and colour their characters and the background.

Once the workshop gets over, for three months the creative team in Toonz will create five animated short films and they will be beamed on Disney channel in January 2015.

P. Jayakumar, CEO, Toonz Animation India said that over a decade ago Toonz Animation had initiated the novel venture of Children's Animation Workshop to bring out the unfathomable creative treasure from children in Kerala.

"During our 15th anniversary we got the opportunity to associate with Disney to take this idea on a national platform and the overwhelming response of over 14,000 entries have left all of us at Toonz spellbound at the magnitude of creativity among these young minds.

"It was a tough task to choose the best five stories, but a great experience and we are as excited as these kids to see the final outcome," added Jayakumar.
