Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah fans got worried when some rumors said that Sharad Sankla, known as Abdul, left the show. But, the actor has now clarified that this is not true. Recently, Sharad Sankla confirmed that he is still part of Asit Kumarr Modi’s show and mentioned that he couldn't even imagine leaving the beloved sitcom.
“No, the news is absolutely untrue. I am not going anywhere and very much part of the show. The storyline in the show is such that my character is not there but very soon Abdu will return. It is part of the storyline. It is such a lovely and long-running show and I am known because of my character of Abdul, it is a big achievement. Why will I quit the show? I can’t even think of quitting the show,” Sharad told ETimes.
“The production house Neela Telefilms is like a family to me and our Producer Asit Kumarr Modi is my college friend, there is no way I will ever quit the show. Jab tak show chalta rahega tab tak main uska hissa bana rahunga (I will remain with TMKOC as long as it continues to air),” the actor added.
The news about Sharad Sankla exiting TMKOC grabbed attention because in the show's current storyline, Abdul is absent from the Gokuldham society.
TMKOC might be the top sitcom on Indian TV, airing for 16 years. Yet, in recent times, a few actors like Disha Vakani, Raj Anadkat, Shailesh Lodha, Gurucharan Singh, and Jennifer Mistry have bid farewell to the show.
Kush Shah, who portrayed Goli in the series, recently decided to leave. The TMKOC producers released a video last month where Kush Shah himself confirmed his departure from the show. "When this show started, when you and I first met, I was very young. You have given me a lot of love since then. And this family has given me as much love as you have given me. I have made a lot of memories here. I have enjoyed a lot here. I have spent my childhood here and most importantly I want to thank the creator of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Mr. Asit Kumar Modi for this journey. He trusted me so much, made my character so interesting and always inspired me. Because of his trust, Kush became Goli today," he wrote.
