Actor Sahil Salathia has done selective work on television where he has been a part of shows like P.O.W - Bandi Yuddh Ke and Everest in recent times.

And doing selective work is something the actor makes it a point to follow as he feels that the Indian television industry is turning regressive. Infact, he has rejected several offers even though they had the most alluring prospects.

We asked Sahil on why hasn't he taken up any shows after doing a couple of them to which he said, "To be honest, it's really difficult to take up a television show after Ashutosh Gowariker's Everest or Nikkhil Advani's P.O.W considering both the shows were really high on quality and content. I did these shows because both my directors are legendary and I got to learn so much by bringing the characters on-screen which they created to life!

It's heartbreaking to see how the regular Indian tv soaps are made, I mean, they do not have a bound script, nobody knows how long is the on-air period or what is the script like from the beginning to the end. I can not take up shows where quality is not a priority! I'm open to all the mediums including television only if it's made to leave an impact on the viewers for all the right reasons!

I think it's time that the Indian entertainment business creates great content, why should we be a joke globally?! Why should we only watch Game Of Thrones or all the amazing shows like Narcos and not create it here?! 1.3 billion people... there is so much talent, so many ideas, we can do so much better."

Apart from being a part of these two shows, Sahil played the lead role in a festival film, There Will Be Tomorrow as an HIV patient.

We wish Sahil all the best for his future ventures!

Very well said, Sahil Salathia.
Both of those shows were content based
& finite shows
It's about time more quality shows have to be made & aired during prime time
As he said, there's no dearth of talent
& actors are prepared to work hard
Finally It's up to the channels to focus
Quality & content & not just Trps thus forcing the makers to butcher their stories.

Indian viewers don't know what quality and good content is these days. They would rather watch a show that has had the same track for 3 years, watch a 9 year old get married to a 18 year old, watch supernatural shit. Whereas all the good content show like KQAK is shown in a afternoon slot.

Highly frustrating but majority young Indians are watching K-dramas, Turkish dramas and English. Who needs Indian dramas when all they show is the same crap, storyline, and drag fest

He said so correct ... Hardly nowadays sensible shows are made ... Everest , POW were one good shows to watch but sad they couldn't garner much TRPs ... Right now its only few shows which are good to watch and not having any saas bahu , makhi dyan nagin or love hate genre ...

Content and story wise Indian producers need to broaden their horizon and they should come up with good sensible content and not such shitty concepts of makhi , dayan , saas bahu , hero with revenge motive and blah blah blah
