Teri Meri Doriyaann actress Himanshi Parashar says growth happens outside the comfort zone. She said, “We must get out of our comfort zones if we want to grow. That is so true. And this statement is enough to tell you to change your daily routine and start working on new things.”

“After some time, you’ll be at least a few steps closer to your goal. If not achieved fully, you’ll be at least in a better position than before,” she added.

How has moving out of your comfort zone helped you? “I always believed that one must keep working hard without worrying about the results because when you're good at your job, you’ll see the results by yourself. I did that. I never wanted to sit and wait for an opportunity to knock at my door while I just sit at home and trust some other person to get me work on the basis of my profile,” she said.

“I always worked extra. I used to contact people, send my profile, and give auditions. Because there are more auditions, there are more possibilities of getting shortlisted for a project, and I think this way I polished my acting skills. Initially, I didn't think of the budgets I was getting for a project because I knew that when I'd have a name in the industry, I'd get the asked budget,” she added.

I asked her to describe herself in five words, and she said, “Positive, passionate, hardworking, patient, and thoughtful.” She added, “I keep it clear to myself about what I want and what I do not want in life. I keep it easy and simple.”

Himanshi also believes that there are different sides of us that we present to different sets of people. She said, “I’m different for my family and friends, where I'm just so comfortable and do not care if I'm not looking good or presentable. I’m with them. With my colleagues, I'm very professional and make sure of every little thing—the way I'm sitting, talking, eating, and whatnot. If we talk about different people and not the atmosphere, then I think it’s about the energy the other person gives you. It’s natural. You behave the way they behave with you.”

And she added that there is a side of us that we let out when no one is watching. “My side is a carefree person who just thinks like ‘theek hai na, dekh lenge’ or ‘let it be’. I enjoy my own company and the chill personality I carry when I'm just with me,” she said.

So, do you seek validation? “I’m a person who loves to share about my life with my loved ones. I can’t keep it to myself. And when I share, I want them to agree with me because a third person who listens to the situation gives a point of view that is neutral. I seek honest views on anything I share. So if I have done something wrong, I’m told that Himanshi, you could’ve done this, and I listen to that because, maybe unintentionally, I did wrong. Still, intentionally, I never would want to do that,” Himanshi ended.
