Tellybuzz presents Reality Awards 2008...

Year 2008 was one eventful year with channels presenting viewers with reality shows that brought many actors to the limelight. Thus in our Special Feature on Telly Buzz, we thought of celebrating the year 2008 as the year of Reality shows and awarding the actors with some Special Awards.

So let's have a Special awards for the "not so real" Reality shows and see who among the celebrity participants walked away with the accolades and awards .

Here are the awardees in the first of its kind “Reality Award Show of 2008 “  which is strictly for Reality show participants and their heroics on screen.

Best Actor of Reality show 2008 (Male): There were many celebrity contenders pitching in for this award, but our award goes to Abhijeet Sawant for his emotional outburst the 'Son of the Soil' performance on Nach Baliye 4. His heart wrenching speech on his mother, Farah Khan and on his wife truly deserved the award. Let's have Teen Taliyan for our Indian idol .Best Actor of Reality show 2008(Female ): This award goes to Rakhi Sawant for her performance in “Yeh Hai Jalwa”!! The kind of emotional support she generated as the messiah of “Chillar Party” is beyond words. She could be the next Indian ambassador to UNICEF. She won the show and also our award. 

Best Actor in Supporting Role(Male): Karan Patel for his performance in Lux Kaun Jeetega Bollywood Ka Ticket. He fought, he argued, he was frank enough and out-witted his co-participants, and thus walked away with our award . His tit-a-tat with co-participant Twinkle Bajpayee was the of this show, which helped the channel and show immensely. Above all, audiences loved their performance more than the actual winners of the show.Best Actor in Supporting Role(Female): Shweta Tiwari for Yeh Hai Jalwa and Monica Bedi for Bigg Boss 2. Shweta’s dialogues and one liners in support of house wives kept their hopes alive in the show for weeks. Same is the case of Monica Bedi. Many congratulations to Shweta Tiwari  and Monica Bedi for their efforts.

Best Actor in Comic Role: Chetan Hansraj from Lux Kaun Jeetega Bollywood Ka Ticket. His love and chemistry with co-participant Puneet Asrani was indeed the USP of the show. Their animosity, arguments and display of physical power kept the viewers glued to this reality show. It was an accidental comedy which left viewers in splits. Many wishes to both of them for winning in this category.Best Actor in Villainous Role (Male): Raja Chowdhary for his efforts in Bigg Boss 2, be it throwing water on Sambhavana's bed to jumping walls, he has done it all and his daredevil acts did not stop even after Bigg Boss.  Best Actor in Villainous Role (Female): Sambhavana Seth for her antics and allegations in Bigg Boss 2. And now she is a firm contender for next year's Best actor category, thanks to her participation in another reality show Dancing Queen. All the best for the year ahead. 

Best Cameo (Female): Jade Goody for Bigg Boss 2, she came, she conquered and left in a hurry. After the racism row in Big Brother, her short stay in Bigg Boss helped her to salvage her image and she surely won many hearts .Best Cameo (Male): Sharad Malhotra's presence in Yeh Hai Jalwa was kind of an anti-climax with the kind of fan following he boasts of!! He truly lacked the trick of Reality show trade. As a result his participation was reduced into a cameo in the show. Nevertheless he won our award for Best cameo . 

Best Action Star: The awesome foursome of Bigg Boss 2, Rahul Mahajan, Raja Chowdhary, Zulfi Sayed and Ashutosh Kaushik share the honors and this award for their Wall conquering effort in Bigg Boss 2.Best New Comer (Male and Female): The award goes to Ashutosh Kaushik and Monica Bedi for Bigg Boss 2!!. Many had written them off, but they proved viewers and themselves wrong, and now are a force to reckon with in the Reality show genre. Wish them all the luck for their future endeavors in Reality shows.

Best Story and Climax : This award goes to the reality show of Star One “Zara Nachke Dikha”, thanks to all the male celebrity contestants of the show. They are the proud recipients of this very prestigious award for their perfectly timed, scripted and superbly enacted displeasure in the finale of the show. The way they staged a walkout, as they doubted judges for being partial towards the girls' team has made them the winners!!.Best Dialogue: There were many contenders in line for this category, but the award goes to Farah’s dialogue in Nach Baliye recently when Abhijeet Sawant was bidding adieu to the show. She reminded him of the teaching of his mother “ tumhari maa ne tumhe 10 paise ke kadr karna sikhaya hai”. This truly deserved a standing ovation and also Arjun’s braclet. Tellybuzz Jury is contemplating to rename this category to "Mere pas Maa hai award ", from the famous dialogue from 70's Amitabh Bachchan movie "Deewar". Abhijeet Sawant and Farah Khan have literally re-written history here.The Star Performer of the Year 2008: The award goes to the celebrity participants Divyanka Tripathi, Manish Goyal, Aman Yatin Verma, Juhi Parmar of NDTV Imagine’s “Say Shava Shava”.We really appreciate and applaud their guts and bravery for coming and singing in front of national audience in spite of not being trained singers, and leaving viewers amazed and amused with their singing talent!

Best Ensemble: With judgessuch as Himesh Reshamiya, Pritam and  Adesh Srivastava, and not to forget Shankar Mahadevan in their show, the award goes to SRGMPA 2008 .

 

And the Award goes to…

Husein Kuwajerwala and Juhi Parmar for their stupendous effort for being able to cope up with the tension of Reality shows, as they have participated or were present in most number of shows. Many wishes to the duo of Kumkum; they might go missing from the soap opera but they never go out of sight, thanks to reality and stage shows.
