Sunjay Kapur Funeral: Late tycoon's prayer meet details revealed; these names go missing from viral note

The chairman of Sona Comstar Sunjay Kapur passed away in London on June 12, 2025. One of the giants of the automotive manufacturing sector, Sunjay Kapur was also known for his marriage with actress Karisma Kapoor. They had been wedded for almost seven years during which she gave birth to his daughter, Samaira and son, Kiaan Raj Kapoor. Today, the final rites of Sunjay Kapur happened at the Lodhi Crematorium in Delhi. Karisma Kapoor left with her children, Kiaan and Samaira for the last rites. Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan were also there to give moral support to Karisma and the kids.

We saw how Kiaan broke down when he had to light the pyre of his father. He was inconsolable as Karisma held him close. Late Sunjay Kapur was a doting dad to his children. He was residing in London with his wife, Priya Sachdev and his son, Azarias. In fact, he had a good bond with Safira Chatwal as well. She is Priya Sachdev Kapur’s daughter from her first marriage with Vikram Chatwal. In the prayer meet notice, the name of his mother Mrs Rani Surinder Kapur, wife Priya Sachdev Kapur, and children are given where even the name of Safira is included. However, the names of his sisters Superna Motwane and Mandira Kapur is missing.

It was said that he had a legal dispute with his sister Mandira over the use of name Sona. She is also a businesswoman in the same sector. It is being said that the sisters will inherit the business by some media houses. In the meantime, Sona Comstar said there will be no change in management. They said a new chairman will be elected shortly by the board. Vivek Vikram Singh, their CEO is now the top head of the company.
