Recently, Sumbul faced fat-shaming comments from a troll who shared a video of her from a recent award show appearance, criticizing her for gaining weight. Unfazed, Sumbul responded succinctly, saying, "Toh?" (So what?).

Sumbul's father, Touqeer Hasan Khan, has taken a firm stand against online defamation. He has initiated legal action against individuals who have posted defamatory content about Sumbul and their families. Hasan shared a post on X (formerly Twitter), informing followers about a case registered against these trolls. He included a screenshot of the complaint copy detailing the offensive tweets and the legal sections under which the case was filed.
