Sudhanshu Pandey on Anupamaa's falling TRP, says "Thoda bahut upar neeche toh hoga"

Sudhanshu Pandey, who played Vanraj Shah in Anupamaa, recently shared his thoughts on the show's falling TRP ratings. After being at the top spot for four years, the show has now slipped to number two, with Rajan Shahi’s Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai taking over. Sudhanshu, who left the show a few months ago, emphasized that it's natural for a long-running show to experience such changes.

In an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, he said, "I think it’s incredible that the show sustained its number one position for four years. It is not easy for a daily show to sustain the number one position, the charm, the interest and everything. Four years is a long time. They have done an incredible job with that. If it is going down a little bit, I think it is absolutely okay because it is inhuman for any show to just be there on top continuously. Thoda bahut upar neeche toh hoga and I think that is natural."

Sudhanshu also reflected on the success of Anupamaa and how it impacted his career. He said, "Anupamaa has given me a large number of audience. The television audience is very different. Yes, I have gained a lot of fan following with Anupamaa because it became a cult show. It is so popular, number one for four years. It has really made a huge difference, not only in my life but in others too."

When asked about moving on to new projects, Sudhanshu confidently stated that it wouldn’t be difficult. "I don’t think it is going to be difficult. I have moved out and I have moved on," he shared. Despite his iconic role as Vanraj, Sudhanshu has been receiving several offers and is waiting for the right script. He added, "This was my first daily show, I gave it all. It did so well that people loved it. Now, it’s time for me to portray other characters."

Though Anupamaa may have dropped to second place, Sudhanshu’s journey continues, and he remains focused on finding the perfect role for his next chapter. 

We at India Forums reported that Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has surpassed Anupamaa in TRP ratings, taking the top spot. Meanwhile, Rupali Ganguly's Anupamaa now holds the second position, after maintaining its number one rank for four years.
