Shah Rukh Khan seems to have taken an inspiration from Rabbi Shergill's song "Bulla Ki Jaana", as we see him playing a guitar for the new song "Challa" from Jab Tak Hai Jaan. The song has the potential to set the cash registers ringing at the box office.
The yearn to hold the guitar and sing romantic songs isprobably owing to the image that has been created over the eons. Elvis Presley was the pioneer, using the guitar as a tool of romance and the journey continues till date. Shah Rukh played the mandolin in the hit film Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge and so did Salman Khan in Hum Aapke Hain Kaun. Now that Yash Chopra is directing his last film, SRK is continuing to add his ever romantic image, this time in the romantic locales of London.Earlier, Big B had played the guitar in the song 'Saara Jamana, Haseeno Ka Dewana', from the film Yaraana. The most romantic hero of his time, Rishi Kapoor swayed to "Om Shanti Om", taking inspiration from the boss aka Elvis Presley! The same mannerisms and the same attitude, made Rishi Kapoor attain cult status with that song. His son, Ranbir Kapoor followed suit in Saawariya, but failed to impress. Later, he was back with the guitar in his award winning performance film, Rockstar!
One only hopes that "Challa" creates the same kind of magic for SRK and the song manages to create similar magic as in previous films like Mohabbatein.
