Sitaare Zameen Par Trailer: Aamir Khan steps into the role of a basketball for this warm comedy film

The trailer of Sitaare Zameen Par is here. As Aamir Khan promised, it is a warm comedy with an underdog theme. Aamir Khan plays a coach who runs into trouble with the law after an issue. As a punishment, he is told to coach a basketball team of intellectually challenged people for three months. Unlike Taare Zameen Par, where Aamir Khan’s character Ram Shankar Nikumbh was aware and deeply sensitive about the topic of dyslexia, here he is a regular person who classifies such people in the same category as ‘pagal’. We wonder if this was done to make it massy as many believe Bollywood is suffering due to wokeism.

The trailer has its comic moments, but there is not one single moment that will stay on with you. Genelia Deshmukh is looking radiant in every frame. Aamir and she are looking very good together. We also have Dolly Ahluwalia whom we know from Vicky Donor. It looks like she has a solid role in transforming his perception about the job. Sitaare Zameen Par looks like a successor or Taare Zameen Par, which is by far one of the best movies of Aamir Khan’s career. The emotional impact of the 2007 movie was huge.

In an era where the two Khans, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan are doing massy projects loaded with elevation action scenes, rousing music scores and big budget production values, this seems different. Fans said he has always been a secure actor and followed his instinct. The movie is coming in theatres on June 20, 2025.
