Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor's Param Sundari release pushed to August 2025 amid packed July calendar

Param Sundari, the upcoming romantic drama starring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, will no longer release in July 2025. The makers have quietly shifted the film’s theatrical release to August 2025. Though no official announcement has been made on social media, a revised teaser attached to theatrical prints of Maalik confirmed the change.

The teaser remains identical to the one released earlier in May, except for a small but key detail. The closing slate, which originally read “In cinemas July 25,” now states, “In cinemas worldwide this August.” The change was first spotted by keen-eyed viewers during Maalik’s theatrical screenings on July 11.

According to a report by PeepingMoon, the decision to postpone the release comes amid a crowded July calendar. The report suggests that producer Dinesh Vijan was not keen on letting Param Sundari get overshadowed by multiple rom-com releases during the same month. A source quoted in the report added, “The film has a certain commercial value and deserves better visibility, which August might offer.”

Directed by Tushar Jalota, who previously helmed Dasvi, Param Sundari is a cross-cultural love story. It follows a North Indian boy and a South Indian girl, who fall in love despite their contrasting upbringings. Their cultural differences play a key role in the narrative, offering a fresh take on modern romance.

Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor share screen space for the first time in this film, which is being positioned as a contemporary love story with emotional depth. While not much has been revealed about their characters, the teaser hints at a visually rich, music-heavy experience, in line with Maddock Films’ recent aesthetics.

An official announcement regarding the new release date is expected in the coming weeks. On the professional front, Janhvi Kapoor will be seen in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, opposite Varun Dhawan. That film is scheduled to hit theatres on September 12, 2025. With two big releases in back-to-back months, Kapoor’s lineup appears packed. Sidharth Malhotra was last seen in Yodha and continues to explore varied genres in his upcoming projects.
