Shraddha Kapoor’s Naagin: The Mythical Saga Set to Begin Filming in 2025

In August this year, Shraddha Kapoor made a triumphant return to theatres with Stree 2, following her 2023 release Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar alongside Ranbir Kapoor. The horror-comedy shattered box office records, earning praise for the cast's exceptional performances and entertainment quotient.

However, it’s been a few months since Stree 2, and fans are eagerly awaiting news about Shraddha's next project. While the actor has remained tight-lipped about her upcoming ventures, speculation about her future lineup has been growing. Now, to the delight of her fans, filmmaker Nikhil Dwivedi has officially confirmed that Shraddha will headline his ambitious project, Naagin, which is set to go on floors soon.

Naagin has been making headlines for quite some time, sparking numerous speculations. In a recent conversation with India Today, the film’s producer revealed that the script underwent three years of development and was rewritten three times before finally being finalized.

Discussing Shraddha Kapoor’s casting as a shape-shifting serpent, Nikhil Dwivedi shared that she was the first choice for the role due to her “ethereal quality.” He added, “She jumped at it. She was the first one to come on board. I approached her first with the idea, and she was sold. She can't wait to start the shoot, now that the script is ready.”

The wait to see Shraddha Kapoor in the much-anticipated Naagin might soon be over, as the filmmaker plans to begin shooting the project next year.

Meanwhile, Shraddha recently made headlines for rumors of her pairing with Allu Arjun for a special song in his highly awaited Telugu action thriller Pushpa 2: The Rule. However, reports indicate that negotiations fell through, leading the makers to finalize actor Sreeleela for the role instead.
