Punjab's flood crisis intensified on Wednesday due to heavy rainfall, raising the death toll to 37, as per official reports. This marks the most severe flooding since 1988, causing widespread devastation. Approximately 1.75 lakh hectares of farmland across 23 districts have been severely impacted, highlighting the extensive damage to crops.
Amid the ongoing crisis, Raj Kundra has made a significant announcement. The actor, and husband of Shilpa Shetty, is preparing for his second major film appearance and is set to debut in Punjabi cinema with the movie "Mehar." He has revealed that all the earnings from the film's first day of worldwide release will be contributed to support the victims of the Punjab floods. "Mehar" is scheduled to be released in theaters on September 5, 2025.

Mehar, directed by Rakesh Mehta, stars Geeta Basra in the lead role, marking her return to acting after a long break. She hailed him as the "new hero in town" and congratulated the entire "Mehar" team, expressing her anticipation for the film.
In Mehar, Raj Kundra portrays Karamjeet Singh, a Sikh character, under the direction of Rakesh Mehta. The film boasts a cast including Master Agamveer Singh, Deep Mandeep, and others. This marks Kundra's second acting venture, following his Bollywood debut, which was inspired by his time in jail.
