Reports recently suggested that Shah Rukh Khan had suffered a back injury while shooting for his upcoming action film King, prompting concerns about a possible delay in the production schedule and a sudden medical trip to the United States. However, fresh updates have now clarified that the actor has not sustained any new injury.
According to NDTV, Shah Rukh Khan’s US visit was planned for routine medical care, not emergency treatment. The actor has experienced physical setbacks in the past due to demanding action sequences across multiple projects. These older injuries reportedly flare up from time to time, requiring scheduled attention. A source close to the actor dismissed recent rumours, calling the speculation around a back injury on King's set “untrue”.
The initial claims sparked online buzz that King’s shooting had come to a halt, and that filming would now resume only by September. But insiders now say that the timeline remains unaffected and that the actor is simply attending to his health needs as part of his usual care cycle.
King marks Shah Rukh Khan’s much-anticipated collaboration with his daughter Suhana Khan, who plays a central role in the film. This will be their first on-screen appearance together. While details of the storyline remain under wraps, the project has already generated considerable curiosity for this father-daughter casting.
Various unconfirmed reports have also mentioned an ensemble cast that could include names like Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Arshad Warsi, Raghav Juyal, and Abhay Verma. However, no official statement has been issued so far by the production team regarding the full cast lineup.
Shah Rukh was last seen in Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki, which released in theatres on December 21, 2023. The film featured a strong supporting cast including Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Anil Grover, and Vikram Kochar.
While fans eagerly await King, the clarification around Shah Rukh Khan’s health has helped put rest to speculative concerns surrounding the film’s shoot and timeline.
