'Sector 36' trailer drop: Catch Vikrant Massey & Deepak Dobriyal in a tense cat-and-mouse chase

Netflix has just dropped the much-anticipated trailer for Sector 36, a thrilling crime drama that promises to keep viewers on the edge of their seats. Produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films in collaboration with Jio Studios, the film revolves around a tense cat-and-mouse chase between a dedicated police officer and a cunning serial killer. The trailer introduces viewers to Inspector Ram Charan Pandey, played by Deepak Dobriyal, a once-relaxed officer whose life is thrown into chaos when several children disappear from a slum in Sector 36. With a personal connection to the case, as a father himself, Pandey becomes obsessed with catching the perpetrator, Prem Singh, portrayed by Vikrant Massey. The film’s dark, slow-burn tension builds as Pandey races against time to stop the mysterious killer, who blends seamlessly into society.

This project marks the directorial debut of Aditya Nimbalkar, who creates a gritty, suspense-filled world that highlights both the horror of the crimes and the pressure on the police to deliver justice. Vikrant Massey, fresh off the success of 12th Fail, has spoken about the challenge of portraying such a complex character. “Playing Prem was unlike anything I’ve ever done. To become this terrifying figure who could pass off as an ordinary person was tough but rewarding. Aditya has created a world that feels raw and real, and I hope people can connect with it,” Massey shared. He added that after the response to 12th Fail, which also dealt with deeply rooted narratives, he is eager to continue exploring such powerful stories.

Deepak Dobriyal, who plays the determined Inspector Pandey, expressed his excitement for the film. “The script for Sector 36 grabbed me immediately.
