For a long time, there were rumors that Sathyaraj and Rajinikanth had a fallout in the 90s after their blockbuster film Mr. Bharath. This speculation was fueled by Sathyaraj’s fiery speech during a protest against the Karnataka government, which many believed was aimed at Rajinikanth. However, Sathyaraj has clarified that there is no issue between him and Rajinikanth.
In an interview with Indiaglitz, Sathyaraj shared that he was considered for roles in Rajinikanth’s films Sivaji and Enthiran but declined them. He explained, "After I turned a hero (he started his career doing villain roles), I was approached for two Rajinikanth films. The first one was Sivaji and the other was Enthiran. I was approached to play the role of Danny Denzongpa (the evil scientist who ends up corrupting Chitti Robo). I wasn’t satisfied with both roles. Otherwise, what problems do we have?”
Sathyaraj and Rajinikanth are now set to collaborate again in the film Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Although the official confirmation is pending, Sathyaraj revealed his involvement during the promotion of his film Malai Pidikatha Manithan. He kept details about his role in Coolie under wraps.
This project will be Rajinikanth’s 171st film. The teaser hints at a plot involving smuggling, but further details are still secret. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music, and the film is produced by Sun Pictures. Filming will commence once Rajinikanth returns from his spiritual trip to the Himalayas.
Additionally, there are rumours that Sathyaraj will be part of Salman Khan’s Sikander, directed by AR Murugadoss.
