Rajinikanth has always been known for his candid observations on various aspects of society, and his recent comments on the changing cultural preferences of Indian youth are no exception. Speaking at an event organized by his wife, Latha Rajinikanth, the superstar opened up about the growing fascination with Western culture among Indian youth. He expressed his concerns about how the youth, along with some adults, have distanced themselves from India's rich traditions and cultural values.
In a statement that caught the attention of many, Rajinikanth said, "In this era of mobile phones, the youth and some adults are not aware of the traditions and culture of our country. They follow Western culture without knowing about the greatness and glory of our country." He further emphasized that while Indians are drawn to the West, Westerners, in contrast, are increasingly turning to India in search of peace and spiritual fulfillment.
The actor elaborated, "Westerners turn to India because they do not find happiness and peace in their own traditions and culture. They say this is where they will find peace and joy and practice meditation, yoga, and natural living." His words reflect a deep sense of pride in India's ancient heritage, highlighting the paradox where those outside India are recognizing the value of the traditions that the youth in India seem to be overlooking.
Rajinikanth also took a moment to acknowledge and praise his wife, Latha Rajinikanth, for her efforts in promoting awareness about Indian culture. He expressed his hopes that her initiatives would be supported and blessed by God, underscoring the importance of cultural preservation.
On the professional front, Rajinikanth has been keeping busy with his upcoming projects. The buzz around his role in Jailer 2 is growing, with rumors suggesting that Nandamuri Balakrishna might make a cameo appearance. Though the details have not been officially confirmed, the actor’s fans are eagerly awaiting to see his special appearances, much like the cameos by Shiva Rajkumar and Mohanlal in the first film.
Additionally, Rajinikanth will star in the action-packed film Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, which also features Nagarjuna Akkineni, Upendra Rao, and a special appearance by Aamir Khan. Set for release on August 14, 2025, Coolie will clash with the highly anticipated War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR.
In a world where cultures are constantly intermingling, Rajinikanth’s words remind us of the importance of staying grounded in one’s roots while embracing the evolving global landscape.
