Salman Khan visits Ashish Shelar’s Ganpati, Z+ security shadow contrasts with barefoot prayers to Lord Ganesha

Salman Khan paid a visit to Maharashtra minister Ashish Shelar’s residence on Monday night for Ganpati Darshan, choosing to arrive barefoot as a mark of respect. The actor, dressed simply in a checkered shirt and blue trousers, stood out for his understated presence amid the festive grandeur.

Videos from the evening show Salman folding his hands in prayer before Lord Ganesha, quietly performing the rituals. Despite being surrounded by a Z+ security cover, his calm demeanour drew attention. Fans online highlighted the contrast between the heavy security detail and his humble, grounded participation in the festival.

Salman’s visit came just days after he joined his family and close circle for Ganpati Visarjan. Clips of him dancing alongside Arpita Khan Sharma, Aayush Sharma, Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal had gone viral, reflecting his ease in celebrating the festival publicly while still under strict protection.

The actor has been under Z+ security for several months following heightened concerns around his safety. Authorities have ensured round-the-clock monitoring of his movements, whether at public events or private gatherings. Even so, Salman continues to make appearances at cultural and religious functions, balancing faith with precaution.

On the work front, Salman is preparing for Battle of Galwan, directed by Apoorva Lakhia, with Chitrangada Singh as his co-star. The film, currently in production, is being pitched as an action-heavy project. He is also keeping television audiences engaged as the host of Bigg Boss 19, where his Weekend Ka Vaar episodes remain a major draw.

Earlier this year, his Eid release Sikandar did not perform as expected at the box office, but that has done little to affect his stature. Salman’s mix of public devotion and simplicity during Ganpati festivities continues to resonate with many, adding a personal dimension to the larger-than-life persona he carries on screen.
