Sajid Khan gets mistaken for 'Mother India' actor amid his demise news, says, "abhi hum zinda hai" - Video

In a recent turn of events, director, television presenter, and actor Sajid Khan found himself in an unusual situation as news of Mother India actor Sajid Khan's demise circulated. The actor, well-remembered for portraying the younger version of Sunil Dutt’s Birju, succumbed to cancer on December 22. However, a few media outlets mistakenly identified director Sajid Khan as the one who had passed away, leading to a prompt clarification from the filmmaker. 

Taking to his Instagram account, Sajid Khan addressed the confusion in a video, where he began by expressing condolences for the late actor Sajid Khan, emphasizing that the actor was in his 70s and had played a significant role in Mehboob Khan's Son of India and other notable films. Sajid Khan clarified, "Mother India film jo 1957 mein aayi thi. Usme jo chhota bachcha Sunil Dutt bana hua tha, uska naam Sajid Khan tha. Wo 1951 mein paida hua tha. Mein 20 saal baad paida hua. Unki bechare ki death ho gayi."

The director lamented the misinformation spread by some media outlets, sharing, “Lekin mere kuchh irresponsible media walo ne meri photo daal di". 

He went on to share the absurdity of the situation, recounting calls and messages from concerned individuals asking, "Tu zinda hai na? (you’re alive, right?)."

With a plea to the media and his fans, Sajid Khan requested understanding, confirming his well-being. He stated, "To main haath jodke request karta hu media walon se aur doston se, fans se jitne bhi duniya bhar me mujhe iss waqt dekh rahe hain. I am alive. And may that Sajid Khan's soul genuinely rest in peace."

For those unfamiliar with the recent events, the late Sajid Khan, renowned for his role in Mother India, recently departed. He notably portrayed the lead character in Mehboob Khan’s Son of India. Additionally, his filmography includes projects such as Maya, The Unmade Films, The Singing Filipina, My Funny Girl, Savera, Mahatma and the Mad Boy, Do Number Ke Ameer, Zindagi Aur Toofan, Mandir Masjid, and Dahshat.
