Rupali Ganguly, a renowned television actress who has captured hearts through her role in Anupamaa, recently found herself at the centre of a fresh controversy involving her personal life. Known for her powerful portrayal in the Star Plus hit series, Rupali is often in the limelight, but this time, the focus has shifted to her family dynamics.
An old social media post from a user claiming to be the daughter of Ashwin K Verma, Esha Verma, has sparked a wave of online reactions. In her note, Esha alleged that Rupali, who is married to Ashwin, has created a rift between her and her father, even comparing the actress to Rhea Chakraborty in the context of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
However, Ashwin Verma has now broken his silence on the matter today, November 4, 2024, at 3:20 a.m., taking to X (formerly known as Twitter) to defend his wife and address the public allegations made by Esha. In a heartfelt statement, Ashwin clarifies his stance, focusing on the complexities of family relationships and emphasising that the accusations stem from a place of hurt rather than factuality. "Divorce is a difficult experience that can greatly affect and harm the children of that marriage," Ashwin writes, openly acknowledging the impact of his separation from Esha's mother.
Ashwin elaborates on the issue, stating, "I do have two daughters from previous relationships, something Rupali and I have always been open about that I care a great deal about. I understand that my younger daughter still holds a lot of hurt about the dissolution of her parent's relationship as divorce is a difficult experience that can greatly affect and harm the children of that marriage."

I understand that my younger daughter still holds a lot of hurt about the dissolution of her parent's relationship as divorce is a difficult experience that can greatly affect and harm the children of that marriage. But marriages end for many reasons, and my relationship with my second wife had multiple challenges that led to our separation-challenges that were between she and I and that had nothing to do with any other person. I only want the best for my children and my wife and it saddens me to see anyone being pulled into cycles of negativity by the media

His words echo a genuine understanding of the emotional toll family separations take on children. However, he firmly denies that Rupali had any role in the conflicts within his previous marriage. "But marriages end for many reasons, and my relationship with my second wife had multiple challenges that led to our separation-challenges that were between she and I and that had nothing to do with any other person," he clarifies, addressing the heart of Esha’s accusations.
Ashwin expresses his sorrow at seeing anyone caught up in what he terms as “cycles of negativity” driven by online speculation. He acknowledges his daughter’s pain but stresses his commitment to both his children and his current marriage. "I only want the best for my children and my wife, and it saddens me to see anyone being pulled into cycles of negativity by the media," he ended, indicating his desire for a harmonious life without undue interference from external forces.
As he stands firmly by Rupali, Ashwin's statement serves as a reminder of the need for respect and understanding in sensitive matters, hoping to put an end to further speculation.
