Roast Comedy V/S Star Power: What do you prefer..??
The show, 'Comedy Nights Bachao' keeps juggling between the two..

The popular show, 'Comedy Nights Bachao' became the first-of-its-kind when it was launched on Colors, back in September 2015. And how is that? It became the first show to officially present roast comedy on a commercial basis.
And one year later, the show has become not only a popular show but also a talking point at several instances. Now presenting the revamped, 'Comedy Nights Bachao Taaza', the show has received a lot of flak during its tenure, many have also appreciated and accepted roast comedy with open arms.
Amidst all this allegations, taking-a-dig humour, the million-dollar question still remains... What do the audience prefer? Roast Comedy at its best or Star Presence in the show?
Cashing in the popularity of Roast Humour..The show was launched at a crunch time last year when people were still upbeat about the major controversy of AIB Roast with Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor. The AIB Roast was loved, but it went on to apparently irk many people which resulted in a shutdown of the episode from the internet.
However, 'Comedy Nights Bachao' did a smart way to present roast comedy on the tube, where it removed the idea of using cuss words and foul language and stayed true to the essence of roast comedy.
Striking the balance between insult humour and star power..One of the biggest challenges for the show was that insult humour has a very niche appeal and when presented on a commercial platform; it becomes even tougher. Hence, Bachao tried balancing the aspect of mass appeal and roasting by occasionally inviting powerhouse celebs like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar and toning down the roast humour. While it also made sure that roast is maximised by inviting lesser known celebrities.
Going overboard at times? As any roast comedy show would anticipate, Bachao, too invited extreme flak for going overboard at times and 'insulting' too much in the form of humour. However, all of it was totally subjective and this kind of humour is not accepted by one and all.
Being the talking point of 'Kapil Sharma-Colors' controversyAlbeit not directly, but Bachao became the talking point when the Kapil Sharma-Colors controversy sparked. As it was Bachao which apparently became a trouble for Kapil as it lost its slot to the show, when 'Comedy Nights With Kapil' was being aired. And the rest is history..
Roast Comedy v/s Star Presence..When it comes to performing with lesser known celebrities, the performers do not cease a chance to roast and have complete freedom to do so.
However, while we have seen several A-listers, most recently Ranbir Kapoor and Karan Johar on the show, the performers, led by Krushna Abhishek and Bharti Singh did not have the freedom to roast their guests much, and instead had to settle by roasting their co-performers which included Karan Wahi, Manan Desai and Sudesh Lahiri among others. Amidst all this, the episode was far-away from being funny and instead was extremely bland.
So, what is it that works? Out-and-out roast comedy or the presence of star which can attract more eyeballs? What do you think and what do you support?

LMAO IF . Looks like Raj nayak paid a lot to you guys. Truly a majority of indian media is called presstitutes. NO matter what and how badly Comedy nights SE bacho gets squashed and defeated every time IF keeps producing an article about how big a success is this cappy gutter show. If the show and rangeela has its mind on right track and showed as much dedication as IF writers it may have worked. Hats off to dedication.

All I say is - LAGE RAHO I-F lol... Show pit gaya but aapne uska saath nahi choda... The show going off air is testimony to the fact that it was not appreciated, had low trps and Kapil's show giving it the final blow... But as always, you continue to insist it was a huge success...

i think its only been seen just for the actors, though they do comedy but its like they want to do,to prove they r best other then Kapil, but not for themselves..though they smile and laugh it always like they r just faking..Kapil show has spontaneous, comedy which makes the person to laugh wholeheartedly..so Comedy knights only based on star power both tv and bollywood..if its closed also there is no one to ask for there return, unlike kapil's..
