Rhea Chakraborty recently, reflected on the difficult time she faced following the death of her boyfriend, actor Sushant Singh Rajput, during an event. She spent 28 days in jail before the Bombay High Court granted her bail. She shared that she celebrated her bail by doing the "Naagin dance."
Rhea shares her experience inside the jail
Sharing up about her experience inside the jail, Rhea shared, People asked me to dance for them. I did naagin dance on the day of my bail. I thought that we never know when I’ll meet them next and if I can give them a moment of happiness, then why not? Most of those women are innocent and hopeless in such under-trial prisons.
Rhea on how Sushant’s death altered her life
The actor disclosed that she was not pleased after the CBI cleared her of all charges. She shared while talking to NDTV, People said he did not go because of you. I always knew I hadn’t done anything. But even when the clean chit came, I couldn’t feel happy. I was only happy for my parents and their reputation. But, we were no longer the same carefree family, it can’t come back. That moment altered all of us completely, for our entire life.
She expressed that others seemed to overlook the fact that she, being the closest to him, experienced the most profound loss. She confessed that she wasn't allowed to grieve properly back then. Now, she reveals that she has moved past her grieving and is doing well.
Sushant Singh Rajput case death and allegations faced by Rhea
Sushant Singh Rajput was discovered deceased in his Mumbai residence on June 14, 2020. Following the death of her actor boyfriend, Rhea faced a media frenzy and intense scrutiny. Sushant's father filed a complaint against Rhea, accusing her of abetting suicide. She and her brother, Showik, were also investigated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) regarding money laundering allegations.
Following the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) taking over the case, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested Rhea and her brother, alleging they provided marijuana to Sushant. However, the Bombay High Court dismissed the NCB's claim that Rhea financed and supported Sushant's alleged addiction. They were later released on bail after a few months. The case was then handed over to the CBI, which has been investigating the actor's death since then.
