Raveena Tandon: Andaz Apna Apna was a clean comedy; didn't connect with audiences at time of release

Raveena Tandon is currently in the headlines for her stellar performance in the film, KGF Chapter 2 which was released in theatres on the 14th of April. It has been just a day since the release but fans and critics have been lauding Raveena and the film has been garnering rave reviews. 

Talking about various topics in her recent interview, Raveena shed light on the fact that she and Sanjay Dutt's family have great relations. She exclaimed that they were overjoyed to be able to make this film. They didn't have any scenes together, so to have spoken. But they were looking forward to at least hanging out one night after work, and it's now been such a long time that it's a lot of fun.

Raveena further added that she always sees Manayata and Sanju on the street, Priya is a buddy, and their sons are now in the same school. His father and Sunil Dutt sir were very good friends, so as a result, it has always been a family affair for them. She also shared her views on the making of the sequel of Andaaz Apna Apna 2 and her thoughts on the film. 

She expressed how at the time of the release of Andaz Apna Apna, there were a lot of these double meaning discourse comedies with a little bit of tomfoolery that was popular. However, this was a smooth family-oriented comedy that came across as straight face comedy rather than the over-the-top kind. 

She further commented,

"It was a bit over-the-top, but it wasn't the double meaning conversations and profanity that were funny. So I think it didn't work with the audience because it was a sudden change and they weren't ready to accept something like this at the time, but it later caught on so well."

Raveena Tandon also made her OTT debut recently with the Netflix series, Aranyak.
