Rashmika Mandanna recently delved into the nuances of her character, Gitanjali, in the box office sensation "Animal." The Sandeep Reddy Vanga film, which has garnered mixed reviews, stars Ranbir Kapoor and casts Rashmika as his on-screen girlfriend turned wife, enduring the tumultuous journey of betrayal.
Taking to her social media platform, Rashmika shared an array of behind-the-scenes snapshots from the sets, accompanied by a reflective caption. The actress unveiled the complexity of Gitanjali, confessing that, as an actor, she found herself questioning some of the character's actions.
Her caption read, “Gitanjali. If I were to describe her in a sentence… it would be the only force at home holding her family together. She is pure, real, unfiltered, strong and raw. At times as an actor, I would question some of Gitanjali’s actions.”“And I remember my director telling me - this was their story. Ranvijay’s and Gitanjali’s.. it was their love and passion, their families and their lives - this is who they are. In a world full of all violence, hurt and unbearable pain - Gitanjali would bring peace trust and calm. She would pray to her Gods to keep her husband and her kids safe. She was the rock that weathered all the storms. She would do anything in her power for the sake of her family. Gitanjali is absolutely beautiful in my eyes, and in some ways she is like most women who are standing strong and protecting their families day in and day out. Happy one week to us #Animal team.”
As "Animal" unfolds on the big screen, its narrative weaves through gang wars and a complex father-son relationship portrayed by Anil Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor. Bobby Deol assumes the antagonist's role, adding another layer of intensity, while Triptii Dimri contributes significantly to the plot.
However, the film recently found itself embroiled in controversy when Congress Rajya Sabha MP Ranjeet Ranjan criticized its alleged 'justification of violence and misogyny' as 'shameful.' Despite such debates, "Animal" stands robust at the box office, having been released worldwide on December 1st.

Actors who do shit films just to earn money and/or break into new markets should have the tact to keep quiet. Shut up. Or, ask people to file a DV case if they go through such shit irl
