Ranbir Kapoor's Christmas shenanigans cause stir; legal complaint filed against the actor

In a surprising turn of events, Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor and his family find themselves in hot water as a Mumbai resident has lodged a formal complaint against them for their recent Christmas celebrations. The viral video, showcasing the Kapoor family's festive gathering, has sparked controversy, with allegations of religious insensitivity and offensive practices. 

A Mumbai resident, identified as Sanjay Tiwari, filed a formal complaint against Ranbir Kapoor and his family members. The complaint, filed at Ghatkopar police station, accuses the actors of deliberately offending Hindu sentiments during their Christmas celebrations.

The controversy revolves around a viral video in which Ranbir Kapoor is seen pouring liquor on a cake and setting it ablaze while uttering the phrase "Jai Mata Di." According to the complaint, Kapoor and his family allegedly invoked Hindu deities in a disrespectful manner by using intoxicants during the celebration of another religious festival. Tiwari claims that this intentional act has hurt the religious sentiments of the complainant and others who share his faith.

Although no First Information Report (FIR) has been registered yet, the complainant has urged authorities to book the actor under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 295(A), 298, 500, and 34. The legal repercussions of this complaint remain uncertain as the Mumbai police review the case.

The Kapoor family's annual Christmas lunch, a much-anticipated event in Bollywood was a festive gathering, attended by the likes of Alia Bhatt, Karisma Kapoor, Babita and Randhir Kapoor, and others. The Mumbai police are yet to decide on whether to take formal legal action against the actor.
