Ranbir Kapoor gets candid on seeking therapy; talks about how the term 'Casanova' became his identity

Whether it is Rockstar (2011), Barfi! (2012) or Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013), Ranbir Kapoor has proven himself as a powerhouse performer with almost every film. But for the greater part of his early career, he made news only for his personal life. Ranbir Kapoor had a serious relationship with both Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif. When he broke up with Deepika and moved onto the Tiger 3 actress, many labelled him as a ‘Casanova’ and ‘Cheater’. In between, Ranbir Kapoor was also linked to women like Mahira Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Sonam Kapoor (whom he dated for some time) and even Kingfisher model Angela Johnson. 

Ranbir Kapoor is the guest for Nikhil Kamath’s podcast People by WTF, where he will be asked about his Casanova image. The actor is heard as saying, “Of course, I dated two very successful actresses that just became my identity that he is a casanova. I was labelled a cheater for a very large part of my life and still, I am.” Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone were in a relationship for a little more than a year. She was madly in love with the actor. When Katrina Kaif and he began to work together in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, they fell in love. Everyone had thought that they would marry as they were a couple for six years. Later, in 2018 Alia Bhatt and he made their relationship public as they attended Sonam Kapoor’s reception together. 

We can also see him revealing how he could not forge a close bond with his father, Rishi Kapoor as a child. He said he feared him as a child. Ranbir Kapoor is quoted as saying, “My father was a short-tempered man but a very good man. I never saw his eye colour. I was always like this (chin down). I was just like ‘Yes'. I never said ‘No'.” 

His mother Neetu Kapoor said days back that Ranbir Kapoor is a total introvert. She said all his expressions are only reserved for his films. He admits to that and says he struggles to express himself. Ranbir Kapoor said he never cries. The actor admits trying therapy. He says the very thought of baring his heart is very scary for him. 

The year 2023 was a great one as his movie Animal with Sandeep Reddy Vanga crossed Rs 900 crores at the box office. He has big projects like Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love And War and the Brahmastra trilogy lined up.
