Rajkummar Rao Praises Wife Patralekhaa’s Performance In IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack In The Sweetest Way

Patralekhaa's fresh Netflix show, IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, just debuted and is creating a buzz online. Actor Rajkummar Rao, her husband, openly commended her acting, labeling it as 'phenomenal' on social platforms.

On August 30, Rajkummar Rao hopped onto Instagram Stories and posted a screenshot of IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack in Netflix's top picks section. He expressed his pride as a husband, writing, “@patralekhaa, so proud of you. Phenomenal performance. Do watch this brilliant series. #IC814.”

Previously, Patralekhaa shared insights on the challenging conditions during the filming of IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack. Speaking to News 18, she detailed the physical and emotional toll of shooting in a confined aircraft set with approximately 100 people, causing feelings of claustrophobia and discomfort. The discomfort was exacerbated by the need to switch off the air conditioning to prevent sound disruptions, further intensifying the already uncomfortable environment.

The rigorous filming schedule impacted her health, necessitating over a week for recuperation. Patralekhaa also disclosed receiving a forceful slap during a particularly intense action scene. Drawing inspiration from Taapsee Pannu's encounters while shooting Thappad, where she endured numerous slaps, Patralekhaa mentally braced herself for the challenging sequence.

IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack is making waves on Google, with over 20,000 searches and a whopping 200% surge in interest in just 16 hours. The series delves into the gripping account of the 1999 Indian Airlines Flight 814 hijacking, uncovering both the intense and lesser-known aspects of the crisis. It documents India's lengthiest hijacking, spanning a week, with stops in Kathmandu, Amritsar, Lahore, and Dubai before landing in Kandahar. Negotiations there resulted in the hostages' release in exchange for three notorious terrorists.

Patralekhaa takes on the role of Indrani, an air hostess, with Vijay Varma playing Captain Devi Sharan, the courageous pilot. The ensemble cast features Dia Mirza, Kumud Mishra, and Naseeruddin Shah in pivotal roles. Anubhav Sinha helms and creates this six-episode drama, now available for streaming on Netflix.

Rajkummar Rao is on cloud nine celebrating the triumph of his recent movie, Stree 2, which has emerged as a massive box office success. Alongside him, the film stars Shraddha Kapoor, Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana, and Pankaj Tripathi in significant roles.
