Radhikka Madan opens up about age gap with Akshay Kumar in ‘Sarfira’

The film Sarfira, directed by Sudha Kongara, hit theatres on July 12. It features a stellar cast, Akshay Kumar, Radhikka Madan, and Paresh Rawal. Radhikka Madan, hailing from Delhi, began her acting career with the daily soap opera Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi on Colors TV. She played the lead role of Ishaani Vaghela opposite Shakti Arora, gaining massive popularity. The series was one of the most famous shows on Colors TV. She also participated in Colors TV's dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8 in 2015. In 2017, Madan appeared alongside Shakti Arora in the Indonesian television series Cinta di Pangkuan Himalaya.

Radhikka Madan recently addressed the age gap conversations surrounding her role in 'Sarfira' in an interview with IndiaToday. She revealed that these discussions were frequent when the film was announced and during the trailer release. However, once the movie hit the screens, the focus shifted.

She explained that the film addresses the age difference right from the start. Radhikka noted, "The age difference is addressed in my opening scene." According to her, the deep connection between their characters, Veer and Rani, overshadows their age gap. "It was not about how they looked or earned," she explained. Instead, their attraction stems from their shared experiences and mutual respect. This aspect of the story is beautifully portrayed in the film.

Radhikka shared that, despite initial concerns, the reviews praised their on-screen chemistry. She said, "I read 42 reviews, and none mentioned the age gap." Instead, critics and fans highlighted the intense and lovely chemistry between her and Akshay Kumar. This positive feedback was a pleasant surprise for her. Radhikka also emphasized that their characters see themselves in each other, which strengthens their connection. 

'Sarfira' showcases a compelling narrative about overcoming societal judgments and embracing proper connections. The film's focus on chemistry over the age gap highlights its refreshing take on relationships.
