One of the big Bollywood news of the week is the revival of the Race franchise. It seems producer Ramesh Taurani is ready to take Race 4 on the floors by the first quarter of 2025. The movie is one of the biggest successes of the production house. Race 4 will see the return of Saif Ali Khan. Since months, fans had been asking for a comeback of the Race franchise, with Saif Ali Khan as the main hero. He played the role of Ranvir to perfection in the first and second movie. It seems Saif Ali Khan has read the script and agreed to be a part of it.
It seems Sidharth Malhotra has agreed to be the second male lead of the film. Producer Ramesh Taurani has had a meeting with him, and he is excited to be a part of the Race franchise. Sidharth Malhotra is a fan of the franchise. The movies will have two heroes with grey shades against one another. While an internal team at Tips Films is working on the plot, the screenplay will be polished by an external team of screenwriters for a top-notch product. The hunk from Delhi has the swag, charisma and good looks to suit the mood of the franchise. Abbas Mustan directed the first two Race movies. It is not confirmed whether they will be back in the director’s chair or not.
The first movie had Saif Ali Khan and Akshaye Khanna in it. Race (2008) is hailed as the best movie of the lot. The two had played half-brothers who keep on double crossing one another. The songs were a rage and the two heroes delivered smashing performances. In the second movie, John Abraham, Jacqueline Fernandez and Deepika Padukone stepped in place of Akshaye Khanna, Bipasha Basu and Katrina Kaif. It was also a box office but the thrill aspect did not impress fans as much as the first one.
The third movie Race 3 made money but was panned by audiences and critics. Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Daisy Shah, Freddy Daruwalla were part of the cast. Remo D’Souza directed the movie.
