Actor Nishant Singh who is best known for his roles in soaps like 'Miley Jab Hum Tum', 'Sasural Genda Phool' and 'Ram Milaaye Jodi' took a huge step by changing his surname from Malkani to Singh recently.

After confirming that it is the judgemental approach towards a name or a surname which leads one to think about the caste and creed of a person that made him change his surname, the actor mentioned to us that, "My inspiration behind the name change is Ranveer Singh. He was Ranveer Singh Bhavnani and later went on to continue with only 'Singh'."

Excited and pumped about his next release, the actor tells, "My film is set to hit the theatres on 12th February, titled, "Cute Kamina" which is directed by Sai Kabir (director of Revolver Rani). The name change will be publicly effective from this film itself."

Telling us about his further projects, he said, "I have another film lined up which is directed by Naresh Malhotra (director of films like Dil Ka Rishta and Kranti) which is still untitled and is set to release in April."

The surname change seems to be working wonders for the actor, who has two films in his kitty.
