"Balika Vadhu is a blessing for me": Roop Durgapal

Tell us something about yourself. 

I am ambitious and I am very particular about what I want in life and I am too stubborn to achieve it. I love chilling out and partying with my friends. I don't like to live a much disciplined life; I am lazy. I love going to beaches or for a long drive with my friends or else I just sit at home and watch the repeat telecast of my show. I am a huge movie buff and I am quite assertive too; I like to discuss or argue about social topics.

How has been your experience playing Sanchi so far? 

It's a blessing for me that I got Balika Vadhu. Before this, I was approached for few other shows but things didn't materialize and I got this. It has been a very good journey so far and I have completed one year with the show. I am really happy that Balika Vadhu happened to me and my character shaped well which led to my popularity. The shows which have earlier approached me, couldn't have given me so much of popularity which I have got today with this show. The character of Sanchi is very moody and for a moment she will laugh and the next moment she will cry and she may even shout at another time. She is little immature and kiddish kind of a girl but she is not negative as she just wants to achieve whatever she wants in her life. I have enjoyed doing lots of scenes so far.

One thing you like and dislike about Sanchi? 

I like lots of things about Sanchi like, she finds herself as the most beautiful girl and she keeps looking herself in the mirror and that's what I also do. Sanchi loves her family and she is stubborn to get whatever she wants in life. I like her daredevil attitude. There are several other things which I dislike about her too like running after the guy who doesn't love her. She shouldn't be that obsessed with a person who doesn't love you; you should only love a person who loves you. She is very rude sometimes which is something that she should control.

How do you bond with everyone on the sets? 

I am very cordial with everyone on the sets and I can't name a particular person with whom I share the best bonding because I share the same kind of bonding with everyone on the sets. I share the best bonding with little Mannu and he is so adorable that before our shoots, I always give kisses on his cheeks which get my lipstick marks (laughs).

How has been experience playing Dari Dari pari on Baalveer? 

It has been a very cute experience playing Dari Dari Pari. I always used to tell stories of fairies to my sister and playing a fairy on Baal Veer was just like a childhood dream come true for me. Dari Dari Pari used to get scared very easily. I loved doing it and I really loved shooting with Dev Joshi and other fairies on the show and I also used to love the costumes which I have been given. I couldn't give time to Balika Vadhu and Baal Veer at the same time, that's why I had to quit Baal Veer.

Do you miss your team of Baal Veer? With whom are you in touch with?

I miss them very much. Meeting them regularly is not possible because of our shoot schedules but we all are in touch with each other and we keep messaging each other as we are very good friends. We all will have a blast when we meet.

Your biggest achievement as an actress? 

It's yet to come as I have lot more to achieve.

Any regrets so far? 

No regrets! I feel that whatever has happened to me, has happened for the best.

What are your future plans?

I have lots of plans; I want to enjoy every day and in future I would like to have a bigger house. I would go accordingly, whatever will come to my way.

A role and a reality show on your wishlist? 

I don't want to get typecast playing same kind of roles; I would like to play different kind of roles. I would love to play a role which will be the real me like who is a very strong girl, who believes in herself and who is self dependent.
