After Tu Mere Agal Bagal Hai, SAB TV is yet again back with another show Chandrakant Chiplunkar Seedi Bambawala which will replace Garima Productions' Lapataganj Ek Baar Phir. SAB TV is known for its stint of bringing in new and unique concept with all its shows. Keeping the trend alive, the channel brings in Chandrakant Chiplunkar Seedi Bambawala which has a concept of Fireman.
Anang Desai, who is famously known and loved by the audiences for his stint of Babuji in Khichdi portrays the role of Hasmukh Mehta, speaks with Tellybuzz in an exclusive chat regarding his character, concept of the show and about the star cast.
What is your character all about?
My character is of a rich Gujarati business man named Hasmukh Mehta staying in Ghatkopar (Central Suburb of Mumbai). He has become something from nothing and established his large scale business on his own. He has money and he is very happy to flaunt and show off his money. Hasmukh has only one child Hemali (essayed by Kavita Laad) who is married to Chandrakant Chiplunkar (essayed by Prashant Damle) and wishes all the best for her and just wants his daughter to be happy always. He wants his son-in-law Chandrakant to leave his fireman's job and get into business and make his life better and more comfortable to live.
What was so challenging about this role that you opted for a role of Hasmukh Mehta for the show?
This is a nice role that I am doing. It is very different from the kind of roles that I have done in the past if we talk about television shows. I have put in all my efforts to make it a good and appealing role so I hope people like my role and work in Chandrakant Chiplunkar Seedi Bambawala.
What is your take over the concept of Fireman?
Don't you think it is a unique concept? It is a nice concept, unique concept and newer things will come up.
You and your daughter share a peculiar relation with some nok jhok in it. What do you have to say about it?
You will get to see nok jhok not only between my daughter and me but also with my son in law. I am trying hard to convince Chandrakant Chiplunkar to get into business and it is also my wish that he gets into business leaving behind the fireman's job. He is not readily accepting my offer.
How different will this comedy be in terms of other comic roles that you have done earlier?
It is quite different. This role and this show definitely different from other shows and characters that I have portrayed. The subject is different, the characterizations are different. So all in all, it will be a joyful ride.
And what about the ensemble cast?
*Touch wood* Dharmesh Mehta (Producer of the show) has been able to collect a lovely cast. I just hope that all of us together will be able to do justice to not only the roles given to us but also bring our show in the eyes of the masses.
Your audiences have always loved you for your character of babuji in Khichdi. So any message to your fans who've always loved you for your work?
I am extremely proud to be a part of an iconic show like Khichdi and even more proud of being Babuji from Khichdi. That is my most memorable role; a milestone; a landmark role that changed the entire perception of people towards me. I am too attached to it. But now watch this and I am sure we all will make you laugh with this show too.
Well, we hope the audiences like and appreciate this new concept. Team Tellybuzz wishes all the luck to the entire team of Chandrakant Chiplunkar Seedi Bambawala.
