Keeping the element of love at its core, bindass launched an all new season of 'Yeh Hai Aashiqui - Sun Yaar Try Maar' for which they roped in Anshit Sharma, popularly known as Rapper Maddy as the new host. Maddy will be narrating each tale with his exclusively created raps for every unique story showcased on the show.
Having gained immense fan following with his penta - lingual rapping, the actor stepped into Rithvik Dhanjani's shoes recently.
Tellybuzz talks to Rapper Maddy about his stint on television.
Please tell us how did you bag this show?
There have been many people who have seen me perform and have appreciated my work. Probably that's the reason I received such a big opportunity. Moreover,I believe this show has come to me by the grace of God.
You are a talented rapper. Why did you choose to do 'Yeh Hai Aashiqui -Sun Yaar Try Maar'?
'Yeh Hai Aashiqui' is an iconic love show on television today and I am glad to be associated with the third season - Sun Yaar Try Maar. In addition, the show needed a narrator with specific attributes and to my luck I possess the similar qualities.
A love story narrated through a specially crafted rap hasn't really been explored in the world of television before. Your viewpoint.
A love story narrated in the form of a rap is very unique and this is the first time that the audience is witnessing something like this on television. I feel people must be loving it.
Please elaborate on your contribution to the show?
'Sun Yaar Try Maar' is an interesting show and I add the entertainment element to it. Yes I am rapping on the show and every episode has a self-created rap, which goes in sync with the tale.
How have you made anchoring 'Yeh Hai Aashiqui' any different?
I play the character of "Pyaar Ka Bhoot." PKB is an invisible ghost, who does not make two people fall in love with each other but he explains the couple's situation and emotions in the form of a rap. I wouldn't term it as hosting, but yes I narrate the show in my unique way. Like I mentioned before, narrating a tale in the form of a rap itself is something very different and fun.
How do you think narrating a story through the rap has generated a response among the young audience?
I think music is loved by every generation and the idea of incorporating music with an interesting story is a blockbuster. The youth today want something new and fun all the time, so this is totally an out the box concept, which the audience can relate to.
Are you nervous about being able to do justice to your role as a host, given the fact that the earlier seasons being hosted by popular television actors have done well?
I haven't been nervous.. but yes, I definitely feel it's been challenging. Considering the fact that the concept is totally different and the demand of the character is also different, I believe the audience gets to watch the show with a different perspective all together.
Is hosting this show a challenge to you?
Yes, absolutely. This show marks my journey into an unexplored space. I am learning something new every day and I do hope the audience appreciates my work.
Well said, Rapper Maddy!

by the way dont think it's a problem for kat to answer in english as english is well spoken n written all over India...so what's need for this issue .the journalist shud hve accept her interview in english ...whereas about dubbing for film ...the actors take all their time, supports & helps from the team during the dubbing ...it's just my opinion ...thnks

When you go live & work in another country, you can't always do what you are comfortable with. Most of the time, you have to realize that you represent the minority in India, not the majority. If she can speak hindi in movies then why not in interviews?? She's not comfy with it?? Give me a break. If an indian actress comes to Hollywood and starts giving interviews in hindi or telugu, @TheJake, you think they will put up with that?? Will it make sense for her to say " Ohh, I grew up speaking hindi therefore I will do that even if english is the language here." That makes no sense. I'm American-Indian, but when I go to India I realize that I can't speak english everywhere I go and all the time. Also @TheJake, Just because your thinking doesn't match someone else's it doesn't mean that it's "small and nonsensical" as you said. What if some of her indian fans don't understand english?? Does she not care for those people who buy tickets for her movies and make her what she is?? Salman helped others. true. they're not all successfull true. But were they all dating Salman Khan ?? No. His relationship helped her and that's evident.

@TheJake: Very good post! @AshRun: It's not that easy. There are many Indians who have been learning English for more than 15 years and they still have a really thick English accent. It's not only Indians, even famous Hollywood actors such as Sofia Vergara (from Colombia). She portrays the role of Gloria in the comedy-hit show Modern Family (my favorite US show) She's been in the US for over 16 years and it feels like she recently started learning English. I personally feel like she has improved a lot. I really liked her in Ek Tha Tiger and Jab Tak Hai Jaan

So what if she speaks English? She has every right to - It's her birth language. She is proud of. What SRK said is right! Whatever they are comfortable in, they have right to do so! Who are you people to judge? I don't recall it being a sin - she learned the language, Hindi - Isn't that enough? Salman may be her Godfather, but if today she is considered one of the top heroines - it's only cause of her hard work! Salman acted Godfather in the past too - there were many other actresses - But where are they? They didn't work right? Was it 'cause of Salman? No, na. It's easy to criticize someone's hard work. Look at the bigger picture! Come out of such small/nonsensical thinking people.
