You will want to re-think on the popular belief that 'Marriages are made in Heaven' once you see this promo of & TV's upcoming rom-com drama, 'Chupke Chupke.'
Yes! That's right.
A marriage that is actually a secret deal. This is what encapsulates the core plot of the latest offering.
The show is based on a Marathi serial and marks the comeback of actors of Mohit Malhotra and Prithvi Hatte who are best known for their roles in shows like 'Jamai Raja' and 'Siya Ke Ram' respectively.
So, here we analyse the promo and how promising does the show appear to be -
What is it about?
A boy (Mohit Malhotra) and a girl (Prithvi Hatte) are seated in a lavish restaurant where they seem to be discussing something really important. The conversation is initiated by the girl who mentions that they will go home together after completing their office hours, but when it comes to weekend parties, it will be a personal affair.
In a matter of a few seconds, we are enlightened that this duo is actually MARRIED, but with a twist. On the other hand, the boy is busy adding EXTRA sugar to his coffee (and still finding it bitter) and also EXTRA salt to his food which irks the girl. The boy agrees to the girl's condition particularly reminding her that there will be no negotiation when it comes to serving tea to his grandmother every morning (which by the way, is mentioned in Clause F of the contract).
And finally, the duo come to an 'agreement' and 'seal' this SECRET DEAL of their marriage. It ends with Meera (Prithvi Hatte) making a remark on the clumsiness of the boy as he has some chocolate left on his lip after eating a dessert.
What's Good?
The concept may take you back to the popular film, 'Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain' starring Anil Kapoor and Kajol which also had an 'agreement marriage', but this does have a lot of differences. The show seems like a breath of fresh air and while the 'secret deal of marriage' is a complicated idea, the duo seem to be handling it rather maturely. You are immediately intrigued as to what is the reason for this marriage deal and how are both parties fine with it?
In a mere 40 seconds, the promo fantastically replicates how a normal marriage is about the union of two contrasting individuals. The girl, who seems a strict and shrewd person has to deal with a clumsy, mischievous and 'EXTRA sugar-EXTRA salt eater' boy. They get irked by each other but still have to make this deal work.
What's Not-So-Good?
It's too early to spot something unusual about the show. We will only be able to mark the same once the show actually goes on-air.
The Verdict
A one-of-a-kind secret 'Marriage Deal' is sealed between this duo and is sure to leave one and all shocked and even scratching their heads. Mohit and Prithvi look apt as the leads and an amalgamation of comedy and drama is always impressive. We can't wait to see how this marriage works out.

It looks good, hopefully they won't have to butcher the character of the female lead and audiences accept her as she is and reward them with good trp. Here is hoping.

I doubt this show will run for longer as the concept is really unique especially the female lead. Here the hero is clumsy and heroine is mature which is role reversal of several shows. Who knows the makers may butcher the main characters to attract more people.
