Promo Review: Mohit Raina-Dia Mirza Starrer Zee5 Kafir is an Intense Tale From The Valley!

It’s raining web series. Every OTT platform is in a rat race to produce more and more number of web shows. Be it Amazon Prime Videos, Hotstar, Netflix, ALT Balaji or Zee 5, each platform is concentrating on less explored and fresh content which is loved by viewers. Zee 5 is coming up with yet another original web series titled Kaafir, featuring Mohit Raina and Dia Mirza in lead roles. 

The series has piqued the interest of audience’ interests ever since it released the motion posters. Set in the backdrop of Kashmir, the series follows the journey of a journalist seeking justice for an alleged militant. The series will mark the digital debut of actor and producer Dia Mirza and is based on a true story.  

The makers recently dropped the official trailer of Kaafir and it looks intense and gripping. Apparently, Dia plays an alleged militant who has been behind the bars for many years. She has a young daughter who plays an equally important part in the series.

The title of the series, Kafir itself holds a deep meaning and perfectly defines the story. Based on a true incident, the story revolves around the sad story of Kainaz and the tragic circumstances that lead to her separation with her daughter.

Dia looks absolutely stunning as Kainaz and she is seen in a never-seen-before intense avatar. Not just her dialogue delivery and expressions but even her silence is speaking volumes. Coming to Mohit Raina, he plays a Kashmiri journalist trying to help Kainaz out of her misery by telling her story to the world. Though the story revolves around Dia’s character, Mohit’s presence is undeniably strong. All in all, the promo looks promising and we’re looking forward to the scintillating story of Kafir.   

The series is written by Bhavani Iyer, who is known for Bollywood blockbuster film Raazi and has been directed by Sonam Nair. Kaafir starts streaming of Zee 5 from 15th of June.
